(Tylenol #3 is the most often prescribed drug in Canada) Ws good to take your exercise wherever you can find it. Evidently, only 6 per cen of people take the stairs in public buildings where there is an elevator option. Walking up stairs just seven minutes each day can be a great boost to better health. Something new on the bone density front: Studies are currently being done to see whether standing on a vibrating platform will increase bone density. Vibration certainly didn't work for weight -loss but it is showing some promise in increasing the density of bone and hopefully warding off osteoporosis. The number of lung cancer deaths per 100,000 Canadians was 47 country -wide. The lowest incidence is in B.C. with 40.3 while the highest is in Nunavit with 110.5 lung cancer deaths per 100,000 people. Our team has shown lots of improve- ment in speed, passing and positional play. Lots of fantastic saves by Justin Godwin, who shows lots of natural ability. Feb. 23 South Huron 6 versus Pt. Edward 7 Goals: James Boyle (3), Carter Mcllwain (2), Luke Andrews Assists: James Boyle, Nicholas Bedard, Dylan Relouw, Carter Mcllwain, Dylan Kints Comments: What a barnburner! This was our first game filled with such intense rivalry and com- petitive spirit. We were so close and it could have gone either way. Great game in goal by Justin Godwin. Good job team! Tyke Red Feb. 23 South Huron (0) versus Mt. Brydges White (6) The Sabres faced off against a very strong defensive team, and were unable to get the puck past the opponent's goalie. Harrison Bowman played goalie, and made some great saves for the team. The three "Star" players who gave their best effort every shift were Ashley Keller, Jacob Ryan, and Joel Denotter. Feb. 24 South Huron (5) versus Merton White (5) Goals: Jacob Ryan (4), Colin Regier Assists: Ashley Keller, Stephan Ducharme, Liam McGregor, Harrison Bowman, Noah McGregor, Justin Pym, Colin Regier, Jacob Ryan The game between the Sabres and the Jets was filled with end to end, edge of your seat action. Even though the Sabres were short a couple of players, they played a fast paced game for the full 45 minutes. Nolan Regier was spectacular in net, playing his best game of the season. The Star play- ers of the game were Nolan Regier, Justin Pym, Jacob Ryan, Colin Regier, Liam McGregor, and Noah McGregor. Great game team! Peter Conlin kept us in the game with some outstanding saves. Hannah Drager played solid on defense. Our team was skating and passing well. Super job Sabres! Feb. 17 South Huron (7) versus Lucan White (13) Goals: Kyle Lapointe (3), Megan Morrissey (2), Hannah Tait (2) Assists: Hannah Tait (2), Hannah Drager, Kyle Lapointe, Alexis Glavin, Jayden Heywood, Colin Thiel Goaltender: Peter Conlin Great game! Despite our very short bench, there was lots of end-to- end action! The oppo- nents had a couple of fast, unstoppable players, how- ever we didn't let them get us down. Congratulations to Kyle Lapointe for his hat trick. Super effort by Andy Ratte, Alexis Glavin and Hannah Tait. Everyone was hus- tling! Overall good team effort! Colin Thiel made some great saves. Feb. 24 South Huron 6 versus Parkhill 7 Goals: Hannah Tait (4), Kyle Lapointe, Jared Orr Assists: Megan Morrissey, Jayden Heywood, Hannah Tait, Andy Ratte, Hannah Drager, Kyle Lapointe Goaltender: Alexis Glavin A very exciting game! A win slipped away from the Sabres in the final minutes of the game. A solid team effort with lots of passing and goal scoring opppor- tunities. Great goal by Jared Orr (with some help from Kyle's skate blade). Alexis Glavin had some terrific saves! We will get them next time!
