Denfield Livestock Market Report for
Tues., Feb. 12.
The market at Denfield Livestock
sales traded on a strong demand at
prices $3 - $4 higher on all classes of
fed cattle with American orders ruling
the market. A good offering of cows
traded sharply higher, Holstein bull
calves active at steady prices.
Ross Duff, Croton sold 10 steers aver-
age weight 1466 average price 87.08
sales to 88 purchased by Norwich
Packers.
Don Eedy and Mark Vanderploeg,
Denfield sold 39 heifers average weight
1462 average price 85.79 to a high of
87.50 purchased by Central Ontario.
Bill and Mary Margaret McDonald,
Thamesville sold seven head average
weight 1278 average price 85.51 to a
high of 88.50 purchased by Norwich
Packers.
Denfield livestock sales

heifers average weight 1270 average
price 85.34.

1962 head of cattle, 307 lambs and goats
Summary
Tuesday
Fed steers and heifers sold $2 - $3 higher. Choice
steers and heifers sold 84 - 88 with sales to 89.75.
Second cut sold 80 - 84. Cows sold $2 - $3 higher.
Thursday
Veal sold steady. Lambs sold on a strong active trade
$10 - $20 higher, while sheep and goats sold on a
steady trade.
Friday
Calves and yearlings sold on a strong active trade.
Steers
There were 342 steers on offer.
Johnston Farms of Bluevale consigned 19 steers aver-
aging 1547 lbs. selling for an average of 83.62 with two
mix steers averaging 1283 lbs. selling to Dominion Meat
Packers for 89.75.
Stan Francis of Woodham consigned six red steers
averaging 1443 lbs. selling to Norwich Packers for
87.25.
D.M. McAlpine Farms of Ailsa Craig consigned 66
steers averaging 1532 lbs. selling for an average of
83.49 with 12 blk steers averaging 1473 lbs. selling for
86.85.
Melvin Steckle of Harriston consigned 33 steers aver-
aging 1494 lbs. selling for an average of 85.24 with nine
blk steers averaging 1491 lbs. selling for 86.35.
