"A" HOCKEY CLUB Well Mohawks fans, it's all set...Our first round series with the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks has been set. After a 4-3 loss in game one Feb. 8 in Saugeen Shores, game two in Exeter was postponed on Sunday due to weather but "Mojo" mania settled in at the South Huron Rec Centre last night (Tuesday) The remainder of the schedule is as fol- lows... Friday the 15th in Saugeen @ 8:30 p.m. Sunday the 17th in Exeter @ 8:30 p.m. Friday the 22nd in Saugeen @ 8:30 p.m. Sunday the 24th in Exeter @ 8 p.m. Tuesday the 26th in Saugeen gametime 9 p.m. The "AA" playoffs have been set. The following is the top four teams in each conference, with the first round series as follows: Shelburne @ Tavistock, Ripley @ Clinton, Lucan @ Elora and your Mohawks taking on Saugeen Shores. The talk around the league (as is every year) that the North is so more superior than the South. This could be the year that the South shows what we have. All four "AA" teams from the South played in the same division...that shows you the depth these teams have. And the talk is also that Saugeen Shores will walk right through us. As we all just wit- nessed in the Super Bowl, you can never take anyone too lightly. So I may be speaking out of turn, but I'll take that underdog role. As we embark on this new playoff season, we call on "YOU", our loyal hockey fans to come out and see some exciting Senior "AA" hockey. As a kid I grew up watching the "Mohawks" win year after year and the excitement that surrounded those games was just awesome. Hopefully, with your help we can stir up some of the "Mojo" spirits of old and bring another banner to Exeter. The level of the hormone prolactin rises during pregnancy and researchers are studying this hormone as a possible stimulant in the production of myelin, the substance that coats the nerve cells. Itis this myelin that deteriorates in MS and causes the debilitating symptoms. Looks promising! Doctors in the United Kingdom have stopped wearing white coats, ties, watches and rings. This is an attempt to reduce the number of "super bug" infections in hospitals. It was found that ties and shirts and white coat cuffs were good breeding grounds for bacteria. What prescriptions will reduce heart attacks, blood pressure, blood glucose, help depression and lung function and strengthen bones? The answer is this: "Walk or jog briskly for 30 minutes three times weekly." Check with your doctor to see if this prescription is right for you. The word "polypharmacy" is used when a person takes a large number of medications that may cause problems especially as we age. This is not to say that these medications are not needed. But each time a new drug is added, there is an increased risk of drug interaction. It's good to have your medications reviewed on a regular basis by your doctor and pharmacist.
