Junior Citizen nominee
Award nominee — Exeter's Mandy Eveland, pictured
above right, is a nominee for a 2007 Ontario Junior Citizen
of theYearAward,which recognizes a young person's con-
tribution to society. Mandy, 15, and a Grade 10 student at
South Huron District High School,was nominated for the
award for being involved in a worthwhile community ser-
vice and for being "a good kid" who does more than is
expected. Some of her involvement in the community
includes volunteering for the Thames RoadVet Clinic, par-
ticipating in the Junior Optimists, South Huron's Relay for
Life and 30 -Hour Famine, sports and band. She also works
for the Huron County Health Unit as part of"RebelsWith
A Cause," an anti-smoking group.The Ontario Junior
Citizen of theYear Award has been given out since 1981
by the Ontario Community Newspapers Association with
the support of its more than 300 member newspapers.
The award's major sponsor is TD Canada Trust, represent-

POLICE BRIEF
Woman over hmit
LAMBTON SHORES — Lambton OPP have arrested
and charged a 36 -year-old Lambton Shores woman after
she was arrested for being over the legal limit of 80 mil-
ligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. On Feb. 7
an officer on patrol in the area of Frances Street in
Lambton Shores stopped a Dodge Caravan. Upon speak-
ing to the female driver, it was determined she had con-
sumed alcoholic beverages. A roadside breath test was
administered and failed. Following her arrest, subse-
quent breath tests obtained at the Grand Bend OPP
detachment showed that the woman was more than one
time the legal limit. She will appear in Sarnia Court
March 17, answering to a charge of being over the legal
limit.
