Brydges Blue (7) Goals: Colin Regier (2) Assists: Noah McGregor, Ashley Keller, Jayda Consitt, Harrison Bowman The Sabres started the game with a short bench and it got shorter as the game progressed due to injuries and sickness. The healthy players were often double shifted, giving these play- ers the opportunity to show just how strong they are. Justin Pym was back in net for this game and he made some spectacular saves pouncing on the puck like a cat on a mouse. The coaches and fans saw a great game and super effort by the whole team! Comment: This game was closer than the score, Exeter had an outstanding first period, but couldn't keep pace for the full game. The locals had a good showing this past weekend, Exeter showed they could play with the big teams, but have to work on their endurance to last for the whole 30 minutes of play. Great job! Kinsman After a very strong start in the first two games, the Avalanche faltered against a motivated Waterloo team, but rebounded convincingly to tie the strong Elora -Fergus squad on Sunday morning. This earned the two teams a re -match in the final and it was an exciting and tense game right to the end, when a late goal put the oppo- nents up 5 - 3 with too little time left for the Exeter girls to mount a come- back. However, after four tournaments, that brings the tally to one gold and two silver medals and the team is primed and ready for the upcoming prelimi- naries in St. Marys on Feb. 22 - 24. Exeter Junior "B" London 3 - Exeter 0 Good hard work by the defense and Brittany Parker to keep the score close. This weeks featured players: Charlotte McEwan and Morgan Cooper. Charlotte is a smart thinking forward, whose accurate passing has made her one of the team leaders in assists. Stats: 8 goals, 18 assists for 26 points, 8 penalty minutes. Morgan is a hard working defense - man who is strong in the corners. Her ability to switch from defense to for- ward, makes her a very valuable play- er on the team! Stats: 5 goals, 9 assists for 14 points, 18 penalty minutes. Ringette skills competition -The above girls from the Exeter Avalanche were winners on the weekend in the Novice B ringette skills competition at the Guelph Ringette Tournament.
