The JMR Electric Midget Sabres accomplished their goal last weekend by beating the Alymer Flames 3-2 in the final game on Sunday. The team earned their right to play in the tournament by winning the Regional Silver Stick earlier in the season. The team played like a well oiled unit all weekend and came away with all the hardware including most sportsmanlike team. In the first game the Sabres faced league rivals Mt. Brydges in a hard fought game with the Sabres coming out on top 3-1. In the second game the Sabres came out hitting and physically dom- inated Huntsvill,e Alabama beating them 7-2. In the third game the Sabres met up with Port Dover with the rights to play in Sunday's finals on the line. The South Huron Midget Sabres won the North American Silver Stick. The Sabres won 6-1 and finished as the top team. In the finals the team was led by tournament MVP Kurt Van Osch and finals MVP Kyle Masse to the 3-2 victory and the North American B Division Silver Stick Championship! After their victory over the weekend the team is playing their best hockey of the season and has their sights set on another long playoff run which began Friday in Mount Forest before coming to Exeter tonight (Wednesday) at 9 p.m. Come check it out!
