SOUTH HURON MIDGET SRRRES
NORTH AMERICAN SILVER STICK CHAMPIONS
For the first time since the amalga-
mation of South Huron a boys hockey
team has won the North American
Silver Stick. The JMR Electric Midget
Sabres accomplished their goal last
weekend by beating the Alymer
Flames 3-2 in the final game on

The team earned their right to play
in the tournament by winning the

season. The team played like a well
oiled unit all weekend and came
away with all the hardware including
most sportsmanlike team.
In the first game the Sabres faced
league rivals Mt. Brydges in a hard
fought game with the Sabres coming
out on top 3-1.
In the second game the Sabres
came out hitting and physically dom-
inated Huntsvill,e Alabama beating
them 7-2.

The Sabres set up and played their
systems almost to perfection frustrat-
ing Port Dover to the point where
they were smashing their sticks after
every shift.
The Sabres won 6-1 and finished as
the top team. In the finals the team
was led by tournament MVP Kurt
Van Osch and finals MVP Kyle Masse
to the 3-2 victory and the North
American B Division Silver Stick
