Who will guess the snow fall accumulation for Jan. 31?
HENSALL — Queensway's Retirement
Home was delighted to host the January
"Business after Five" for area Chamber of
Commerce members on Jan. 24. Visitors
were given a tour of the facility and had
an opportunity to meet our residents,
socialize and network with area business-
es in the cozy lounge over snacks and
refreshments.
The 15 residents, staff, volunteers and
family members that participated in the
Alzheimer Walk for Memories at South
Huron High School Sat., Jan. 26, were
thrilled to raise $877 for the Huron
County Alzheimer Society. Residents that
participated were pleased to have the
opportunity to continue to serve their
community.
Don Finkbeiner, Ivan Norris, Harold
Mills, Devon Martene and Harvey Smith
were the featured musical entertainment
Thursday at the January birthday party.
The terrific music drew a good crowd of
birthday celebrants along with their
friends and family members.
Lisa Stewart, music therapist worked
her musical magic with residents Friday
morning as she led her small group and
also worked with the many residents who
benefit from her individual attention to
their specific musical tastes. Later in the
day resident council met to discuss and
give their input regarding the upcoming
February events. One thing is certain,
baking group will definitely be making
heart shaped shortbreads for some special
events.
The retirement residents are having fun
with their contest, guessing the amount of
snow that will accumulate on Jan. 31.
Residents are writing down the amount in
centimeters and looking forward to seeing
who has the prize winning guess.
Breakfast group, exercises, euchre, art
group and manicures completed a busy
week for residents.
