Marshall is originally from Waterdown and after going to Sheridan College for advertising sales and marketing was working in London when she saw a newspaper ad for the event planner position in Exeter. Describing herself as very energetic and enthusiastic, Marshall says she loves living in the country and meet- ing people. One of the first jobs Marshall is taking on is the Seniors Trade Fair in June and although her position is officially part time, she says there is enough to keep her busy full time. Other projects Marshall is working on are a Home and Garden Show March 14-16 which she says will see 40 vendors at the South Huron Rec Centre. Also being worked on by the Chamber are a farmers market as well as possibly an auto show, an idea of Chamber president Hugh McMaster. "Being part of the town is awesome," says Marshall who adds instead of just wanting to see the town suc- ceed, she can now help do something about it. Marshall says she is also an artist on the side and would like to have craft shows around Christmas. "Once the ball is rolling, it won't be so busy," says Marshall. Marshall says she is open to ideas and wants to expand business opportunities in South Huron. She is also available to be hired for event planning. To contact her, phone the SHCC at 235-4520. Fatal fire — Shipka resident Mary Gibson died in an early morning fire Jan. 25 at her residence on Crediton Road in Shipka. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
