Following the workout, pro- gram staff joined the group to lead a mental aerobic workout of quizzes and games. Massage therapist Lori Burt visited and worked with several resi- dents throughout the day. Father Peter of St. Boniface met with Roman Catholic residents Tuesday morning assisted by Mariette Bilcke and Betty Grenier. Pastor Scott Stein of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Exeter led worship Tuesday with Mrs. Woodward as volunteer pianist. In the evening the Christian Reform Singers sang in the retirement home lounge and residents also enjoyed a social time over refreshments following the performance. Auxiliary volunteer Donna Smale visited Wednesday to organize the euchre players while others enjoyed some one on one time during the Helping Hands program. Hensall United Church At Hensall United Church service began with welcome and announcements and the passing of the peace. Rev. Keith Lewis was the minister, his sermon was "I will make you fishers of men". Bill Gibson was the organist. Jerry and Linda Traquair were the greeters. Mona Alderdice was the reader and candle -lighter. The ushers were Garry and Janice Alderdice. Pat Veal looked after the nursery. Service closed with commissioning, benediction and choral amen. The annual meeting has been set for Sun., Feb. 24 after worship. There will be a pot -luck lunch. At Carmel Presbyterian Church Rev Andy Meinen was the minister. His message was "Necessity of Christ". Joyce Pepper was the organist with Al Hoggarth and Harry Moir receiving the offering. A social hour followed the service. Bridge Club Above average scores for Jan. 16 Nick Nosco and Robert Drummond .580 Carole and Dennis Hockey .560 Audry and Don Wilson .510 Thursday afternoon retirement resi- dents met for their new "Show and Tell" group with one woman showing a beautiful, delicate handkerchief that had been handed down from her great grandmother when she was married, another recited a poem called "Twas the Night Before Seeding" and a gen- tleman kept the group entertained by telling jokes. Residents are also keep- ing retirement home director, Julie Grimminck busy with suggestions for hors d' oeuvres they would like served at their first cocktail party. they are planning to host this party for friends and family. Friday morning music therapist, Lisa Stewart presided over Chime Choir with a focus on Robbie Burns' music in acknowledgment of the fact the Robbie Burns' day is celebrated in January. In the afternoon Lisa intro- duced drumming during the retire- ment residence Rhythm For Life group.
