Grand Bend WI will arrange displays for Grand Bend Library show case
GRAND BEND – The structure of the Women's
Institute organization and the importance of our
Tweedsmuir history book were explained by Donna
Lovie at the January meeting of the Grand Bend
Women's Institute. She explained the levels of working
groups. The local branch, the district, area, region and
then the provincial.
Headquarters make up the organization. The
Canadian Federation of the Women's Institute and the
Associated Country Women of the World indicated just
how big the Women's Institute is. Magazines from many
of these levels were on display. The Women's Institute
is world-wide!
Donna also had a display showing the local photos of
businesses past and present. Our Tweedsmuir commit-
tee will put their efforts toward making records of our
village and the buildings.
President, Cass Lovie presided at this meeting and
opened with a humour reading. Cass presented a $500
cheque to the Adult Day Centre. Ann Rollings explained
the financial cost of the Grand Bend Day Centre.
Tammy Antaya, co-ordinator of Grand Bend Centre was
also present.
The roll call was answered by giving names of places
in Grand Bend that existed many years ago. The roller
rink, dance hall, theatre, restaurants and merry-go-
round were all remembered with fond memories.
The Grand Bend Library show case displays are
arranged by the Grand Bend Women's Institute. A new
display will be arranged soon.
A stone art painting course will be offered on March 4.

TD Canada Trust Market Growth GICs.
With a Market Growth GIC from TD Canada Trust, you
can feel secure knowing your principal is protected. You
might also see some unexpected growth too. That's because,
unlike other GICs, Market Growth GIC returns are linked to
the performance of stock market indices, so you have the
potential for higher returns. Consider our Financials GIC
Plus which lets you benefit from the growth potential of the
Canadian financial sector through returns based on the
performance of the S&P/TSX Banks Index. For example, if
you had invested in such a GIC on October 31, 2002, at
maturity on October 31, 2007, you would have earned a
remarkable 11.8% compound annual return. If the index had
declined or remained unchanged over this period, you would
have received no return, but your original investment would
still have been secure. If you want an RSP investment that
has the potential for some unexpected growth, contact a
representative at TD Canada Trust by February 29, 2008.

Ontario Erland Lee (museum) Home acquired the E. D.
Smith collection last year. The artifacts have been cata-
logued and an exhibit created. The exhibit features
items and pictures of the E. D. Smith family, notably
Christina Smith who was the president of the First
Women's Institute in 1897.

1. The amount of the return, if any, on the Financials GIC Plus depends upon the change in the S&P/TSX Banks Index over the term of the GIC. The maximum return is capped
at 75% for a five-year term and 35% far a three-year term. The maximum return is subject to change at any fime but such return for a specific GIC purchase is fixed on the date
of purchase. The total percentage change in the index from October 31, 2002 to October 31, 2007, which would have been applicable to such a product, was 117%. Because
the maximum return on the GIC is capped at 75%, the actual return would have been 75%. The return is equivalent to an annual compound rate of 11.8% over this period. For
the period of April 13, 1998 to April 13, 2001, the total percentage change in the S&P/TSX Banks Index, which would have been applicable to such a product, was -5%;
consequently, such a GIC purchased and held over that period would have yielded no return. The principal amount of the Financials GIC Plus will be repaid in full at maturity.
The minimum principal amount is $1,000 for non -registered accounts and $500 for registered accounts. The product is not redeemable prior to maturity. A disclosure statement with
complete details of the features of the Financials GIC Plus is available at your TD Canada Trust branch. The Financials GIC Plus is not sponsored, endorsed, sold or promoted by
Standard & Poor's or the Toronto Stock Exchange, and neither makes any representation, warranty or condition regarding the advisability of investing in this product. S&P is a
trade -mark of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. TSX is a trade -mark of TSX Inc.
