meeting of 2008 at the Exeter Legion at 6 p.m.
with a delicious pot luck dinner on Jan. 8.
President Mildred Chalmers welcomed everyone
and opened with a poem "The Week After
Christmas". 0' Canada was and sung and the
Lord's Prayer repeated. Happy Birthday was sung
to Jane Dearing and Lillian Mathers.

for a CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT. This is a permanent, full
time position.
The projects completed by FINNBILT GENERAL CONTRACTING
LIMITED are based in S.W. Ontario and the main focus of this
company is municipal sewage & water treatment plants and
pumping stations with a diversification in industrial buildings &
bridge rehabilitation construction.
Qualifications:
- must have at least 5 years as an on-site superintendent
- have the ability to read and understand drawings and specifications
- have the ability to coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
- experience in site works, concrete forming, carpentry, & process
mechanical would be an asset

COMPUTER TRAINER
Reporting/Responsibilities
Under the direction of the System Principal - Information Services, the Computer Trainer
will provide Web Page Design and Desktop Publishing Support to the Communications
Department including but not limited to some of the following duties:
• Support website design using industry -specific software;
• Provide graphic design/desktop publishing support for Board publications;
Install and upgrade user software as required in accordance with licensing and
installation protocols; and,
• Participate as a collaborative team member.
Qualifications & Experience
Completion of one year community college computer technical training/graphic design
program plus up to two years related experience or combination of experience,
education and training considered equivalent. Proven working knowledge of PC based
industry -standard software related to webpage and graphic design.
Hours of Work: 20 Hours per week, 12 months per year
This is a temporary assignment currently scheduled from
January 28, 2008 to January 19, 2009
FINANCE OFFICER - Systems, Control, Budget
Reporting/Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Services Administrator, the Finance Officer will provide
support to all departments and schools to assist in the maintenance of accurate
financial information, preparation of the budget and maintenance of accurate controls.
This position will conduct periodic reviews of the effectiveness of the controls for the
operational budget, general ledger and financial statements. Under the direction of the
Finance Management team, the Finance Officer will investigate and analyze problems
and issues as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 3 year College Diploma in Business/Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
Preference given to applicant working towards a professional accounting
designation (i.e. CGA, CMA, CA).
• Two to three years of accounting experience in a public sector environment.
Job Competencies:
• Effective project management skills and ability to deal with multiple demands
and priorities
Proven analytical and problem -solving skills
Excellent communication, language and presentation skills
Demonstrated proficiency in advanced level computer applications
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal
Background Check as a condition of employment.
This is a temporary assignment currently scheduled from
February 4, 2008 to January 30, 2009

Reports
Secretary's report was read and adopted. Murray
Taylor; the treasurer gave everyone a copy of the
financial statement with a balance as of Dec. 31,
2007 of $1,345.62. It was reported that the trea-
surer's books have been audited and approved.
Auditors for the coming year are: Vera Armstrong
and Gerald Dearing, Ways and Means: John and
Mary Horn, Cash Register Receipts: Judy
Leybourne, Bus Trips: Judy Leybourne, Advisory
Committee: Jim Bearss.
Coming events were discussed and there will be
a euchrama at the Exeter Legion on Jan. 25, start-
ing at 10 a.m. Charles Reid, our zone field repre-
sentative has agreed to speak at the February
meeting. Judy Leybourne spoke about a trip to
Hills Lodge on the 1000 Islands in August if enough
interest is shown, contact Judy by the end of
January, or the first part of February if you are
cooking with memories

CRUNCHY BANANA
MUFFINS
IF YOU KNOW ME MUCH AT ALL YOU KNOW THAT MY
FAVORITE MUFFINS ARE BANANA. I LIKE TO TRY A LOT OF
DIFFERENT ONES AND I ALWAYS ENJOY FINDING A NEW,
GREAT TASTING ONE. THE FOLLOWING RECIPE TAKES ME
BACK TO AN OLD RECIPE THAT I GOT FROM MY MOM. I CAN
REMEMBER THINKING THAT IT IS PROBABLY A GOOD HEALTHY
ONE WITH THE WHEAT GERM! REGARDLESS IT IS A MUFFIN
WITH A CRUNCH AND VERY GOOD!
3 mashed bananas
1-1/4 cup flour
Vl cup br. Sugar
1/1 cup wheat germ
1 tsp each of baking powder, baking soda and vanilla
1/3 cup margarine
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1/1 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
Mix dry ingredients together and then add to wet ingredients
and stir till lumpy. Put in greased muffin tins and then sprinkle
the top with the following two ingredients mixed together
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.

Olga Davis read a poem "2007 is Gone." Olga
Davis introduced the guest speaker Kendra Craig,
co-owner of Bio -Connections in Exeter and
Dashwood.
Guest speaker gives exercise tips
Kendra is an Athletic Therapist. She said that
she is always looking for volunteers to help the
residents at the Exeter Villa do their exercises, if
anyone is interested. She also explained about a
portable Laser Device they have, and gave the
members some good tips about exercise.
Olga thanked Kendra and read "New Year
Wishes." The meeting closed with "The Senior's
Prayer." The February meeting will be held at the
Exeter legion on Tues., Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.
All people over 50 are welcome to attend. As
always a great potluck meal and talented enter-
tainment will follow.
