CLANDEBOYE
— Clandeboye
could have a
future TV star on
its hands.
Twenty-two
month old Alyssa
Langendyk
appears in the
new, much -
hyped CBC soap,
"MVP," which
debuts this
Friday at 9 p.m.
Alyssa appears
in four scenes in
the final episode
of the 10 shows
filmed for
"MVP's" first
season.
The show,
billed as
"Hockey's Desperate Housewives," details the
off -ice lives of the fictitious Mustangs hockey
team.
Eight of the 10 episodes were filmed in
London, including the episode Alyssa appears
in, which was filmed at Grosvenor Lodge
Sept. 27.
Alyssa lives in Clandeboye along with her
twin brother, Owen, and her parents, Tammy
and Jeremy. Through a group in London
called Multiple Births, Tammy got in touch
with a talent agency and last April took the
twins to Toronto to audition for a Maytag
commercial. While Alyssa and Owen weren't
chosen for that job, the agency later thought
Alyssa would be a good fit for "MVP." After e -
mailing Alyssa's picture, "they loved her,"
Tammy says.
Tammy doesn't want to reveal much of
"MVP's" plot, but says Alyssa plays a little
girl named Hope who has passed away.
Of the taping at Grosvenor Lodge, Tammy
says, "It was a long day, but it was fun." She
said she was surprised at how many people
were involved with the filming of the show
and how quickly set changes were made.
While Alyssa is obviously too young to
understand exactly what was taking place,
Tammy says she thinks her daughter enjoyed
the day's work and the crew working on the
show called her "a natural." She said every-
body on the set was helpful and friendly to
Alyssa.

"They treated her like a star," Tammy says.
Because of the nature of the show, Tammy
jokes that she won't allow Alyssa to watch
"MVP" until she's 18 years old.
Tammy says she thinks she will pursue
more television work for both Alyssa and
Owen. She said she sees it as an opportunity
for her twins and the work on "MVP" was
good money for Alyssa's college fund. She
said friends and family are excited to see
Alyssa in the upcoming episode.
