Lots of end-to-end action! The whole team played well. Congrats to Kyle Lapointe for his first goals of the season! We'll get them next time! Tyke Red Dec. 22 South Huron Red 5 ver- sus Lucan Green 7 Goals: Colin Regier, Justin Pym, Jacob Ryan (3) Assists: Stephan Ducharme, Joel Denotter, Harrison Bowman, Liam McGregor, Ryan Gibbings Comments: The Sabres played an awesome game against the Lucan team, with every player showing a very strong effort to get the puck out of our end. Nolan Regier made many great saves and showed the Lucan team that he owned the crease. Super - sport of the game was awarded to Harrison Bowman for a solid effort every shift of the game. Dec. 29 South Huron 2 versus Parkhill 12 Goals: Colin Regier, Jacob Ryan Assists: Ashley Keller, Justin Pym, Jayda Consitt, Ryan Gibbings The Sabres struggled against the Parkhill team and were held scoreless until early in the third period. With the team struggling offensively and defensively, goalie Joel Denotter faced numerous shots making some spec- tacular saves. Jayda Consitt put forth her best effort of the season earn- ing her the Super -sport award for the game. I am sure that the Sabres will improve the score the next time that they face off against Parkhill. Dec. 30 South Huron 4 versus llderton 1 Goals: Joel Denotter, Jacob Ryan (3) Assists: Stephan Ducharme (2), Jayda Consitt, Justin Pym, Nolan Regier, Noah McGregor, Liam McGregor, Ashley Keller Comments: The Sabres claimed their first victory of the season against the Ilderton Tykes. Every Sabre player played with a higher level of intensity and desire than in any previous game. The solid fore -checking and back - checking throughout this game is what really made it fun to watch. Ryan Gibbings made his debut in net making so many saves that it earned him the Super -sport award. Congratulations Sabres on the well deserved victory. Ashley Keller played very well in net and was quick to smother the puck whenev- er it came close. Justin Godwin between the pipes kept llderton out. A couple of hat tricks by Luke and Carter and nice goal by Jared. Great team work! Way to go! Nice win. The Super Sport was Luke Andrews. Dec. 29 SH 4 versus East Lambton 8 Goals: James Boyle, Luke Andrews, Carter Mcllwain (2) Assists: Jacob Hill, Luke Andrews, James Boyle, Dylan Relouw, Nick Bedard and Jared Myatte Comments: South Huron was a little sluggish out of the gates but Justin Godwin made a lot of great saves. The Super Sport went to Justin Godwin. SH 7 versus Parkhill 4 Goals: Nicholas Bedard, James Boyle (2), Carter Mcllwain (4) Assists: Carter Mcllwain, Dylan Relouw (2), James Boyle, cassie Maier, Nicholas Bedard Comments: Awesome game team. Great goal- tending by Luke Andrews. It was close for a while and then we found out scoring touch. Lots of forechecking and backchecking. Keep it up team! SH 4 versus Mt. Brydges 9 Goals: Luke Andrews (2), Carter Mcllwain (2) Comments: We were up against a fast skating Mt. Brydges team. Lots of back and forth action. Dylan Kints did well in goal as he was up against a lot of breakaways. Nice third period by coming back with four goals. Game three SH 4 versus Tavistock 3 Goalie: Ricky Poirer Goals: Kean Dwyer (2), Nathan Somerton, Tyler Hartman Assists: Evan Boyle, Evan Hardie Comments: Great work in a sea -saw game that went back and forth. Another nice third period gave us three goals in the last four minutes of the game to clinch first place in the round robin and a guarantee game in the finals! Finals SH 6 versus Parkhill 2 Goalie: Ricky Poirer Goals: Kean Dwyer (2), William Regier (2), Evan Hardie (2) Assists: Ben Mungar (3), Tyler Hartman (2), Kean Dwyer (2), Nathan Somerton (2) Comments: SUPER JOB SABRES! This game was by no means relative to the score. Parkhill battled hard and outplayed us for most of the game by car- rying a 1-1 tie into the third. We had to rely on yet another strong perfor- mance by Ricky Porier in net to keep us in the game until we exploded in the third with five straight goals. Excellent game by Ben Mungar, picking up three assists. Overall Comments: Congrats Sabres! The coaches and parents are all very proud of you! This was a fantastic display of hockey by our guys who really stepped up their game during a season where wins are very hard to come by.
