The victory keeps the Jets even with the Tavistock Royals for first in the south- ern conference with each team having 26 points. Clinton is three back of the leaders with 23 while Lucknow is tied with Exeter at 18. Saugeen continues to lead the league over all with 30 points with Ripley at 26. Jets general manager Rob Andrews said both the Radars and Jets were missing some key players, "but you get by with what you have." The Radars were up 3-2 after one period with Dan Crowley and Drew Belt scor- ing for the Jets. Andrews said the Jets start- ed coming on halfway through the second period and goals from Jordan King, Jason Davies and Belt put them up 5-4 by the end of the period. Todd Hunt put the game away late in the third period for the 6-4 win. Andrews said the Radars got on the Jets early and cap- tilized on their mistakes. "But our guys came back...these games are so important when you play Clinton, Exeter and Tavistock.... our guys ground out the victory," said Andrews. With the Jets missing play- ers, Andrews said he was happy to see other players step up to help the team win. "You can't count on certain guys to carry you every night. It was nice to see we had bal- anced scoring. Defencemen scored a couple of goals for us and that's important." The Jets host the Exeter Mohawks Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. Andrews added the Jets will face a tough stretch of four games over Christmas when goalies Dave Riddell and K.J. Robinson will be away. But Andrews said he has faith that their third goalie, Jamie Wallace can do the job for the Jets. "Jamie has gone in and played for us before and he's done the job. That's where you see the character of your team, how they can all put it together."
