Christmas spirit
at Queensway
HENSALL — Queensway residents spent two evenings
this past week meandering along the back streets of
Exeter and Hensall via Murphy Bus Lines mobility bus
enjoying the beautiful Christmas light displays. The
clear crisp weather with just a light snow falling was
enough to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.
Retirement residents were excited to create a
Christmas greeting for the local cable T.V. channel.
There were lots of laughs while taping the clip.
Residents were also busy doing a Christmas arrange-
ment using boughs, berries and pine cones under the
tutelage of staff member Linda Bedard. The fresh smell
of pine brought the scent of Christmas into the home.
Marilyn Hern had residents busy as well making truffles
rolled in cocoa, sugar or coconut.
Several ladies enjoyed lunching at the Hensall Dining
for Seniors Thursday where they caught up on news
with old friends. Bea Richardson was the door prize
whiner of a beautiful poinsettia.
Queensway residents, families and staff participating
in the recent food drive for the Christmas Bureau, were
pleased to make a monetary donation and donate three
bags of groceries. We are mindful of the fact that many
are not as fortunate as we are during this season of giv-
ing.
The Christian Reform Singers including many youth
from the church gave a wonderful Christmas program
Tuesday evening with singing, bells and solos followed
by a time of visiting and refreshments with residents.
Residents also benefited from their regular programs
throughout the week including exercises, music thera-
py, massage therapy, manicures, church, and euchre.
Coming events

at the resident Christmas party.
Fri., Dec. 27 - 6 p.m. Senior Diners 7 p.m. Birthday

Plan Number 7-3-945 FAMILY HOME WITH VICTORIAN CHARM An archway over the front entrance, a d ep front porch, the curved extension of the highest
gable and the decorative woodwork that frames the mullioned windows, all lend this three-bedroom family home an air of Victorian charm. A covered porch
leads through the front door into a large foyer. A den is on the right, adjacent to a two-piece powder room. A coat closet is situated close to the entrance to the
great room. Fitted into a bayed -out space near the back of the house, the great room boasts a dramatic vaulted ceiling, as well as a fireplace. Flowing
seamlessly from this room is the dining room, occupying its own a bayed -out area, which has access to a covered deck, the perfect spot for year-round
barbecuing. The kitchen is separated from the other family rooms only by a raised eating bar and island, ensuring the cook will never feel isolated. The L-shaped
counter configuration promises more than adequate work space, and a pantry provides extra storage. A window over the kitchen sink overlooks the back
garden. From the kitchen, a doorway leads to a spacious laundry room, with a coat closet located near the entrance to the double garage, where there is
enough room for a sizeable workshop. Part of the garage has an extra -high ceiling, ideal for an RV or other over -height vehicle. Up the U-shaped stairway, a
vestibule area allows a glimpse of the great room below over a railing. The master suite, overlooking the back garden, features a large walk-in closet. The
ensuite, in a bayed -out area, offers a touch of luxury in the form of a shower stall and a soaker tub, plus double basins. The second and third bedrooms share a
bathroom, also with double basins. The third bedroom features a window with an extra -deep sill. Exterior finishes include wooden shingles, painted trim,
decorative wooden detailing and stone accents. This home measures 45 feet, four inches wide and 57 feet deep, for a total of 2,230 square feet of living space.
Plans for design 7-3-945 are available for $666 (set of 5), $751 (set of 8) and $805 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add
