LUCAN — "It was an unsuccessful
weekend," says Lucan Merton Jets
general manager Rob Andrews,
speaking of the 6-4 loss to Tavistock
Saturday night in Lucan.
After the first Tavistock was up 2-
1, with Alex Butkus scoring the lone
goal. In the second the Jets Jason
Wilson scored
again, for a 5-2
Tavistock lead.
"In the second
period it went
bad," says
Andrews,
explaining that
an inconsistency
of calls by the
referee as a fac-
tor, "Many of the
guys were in
and out of the
penalty box and
Tavistock took
advantage of it,"
adding, "a cou-
ple of guys were
also thrown out
of the game."
The final score
was 6-4, with Brad Yeo and Kyle
Smith scoring goals.
Andrews says although the win
was disappointing, "you have to
pick up and move on," adding he's
hoping the Jets will be one of the
top four teams by Christmas and, "It
looks like we'll be there."
The Jets play on home ice
Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. against
Clinton.
