Monthly winners — South Huron District High School recently handed
out Student of the Month awards for October and November.Warren Elder,
second from right, was October's winner, recognizing his excellent attitude
and work ethic in the arts. Janita Pfaff, second from left, picked up November's
honours for making an extra effort at her homework, improving her grades
and showing initiative and responsibility in her educational studies. Both stu-
dents are in Grade 12.With Pfaff and Elder are Susan McGregor, left and prin-

POLICE BRIEF
Empty residence
broken into
HURON PARK — On Nov. 18 at around
3 p.m., Huron OPP officers were called to
an abandoned residence in Huron Park in
South Huron. Police were advised that a
group of people had broken into a resi-
dence. Police arrived on scene shortly
after and while looking in through a rear
window, observed four youth inside the
residence running towards the front of
the house. Police ran to the front of the
house to see the four youth (two males

and two females) running across the
street. Two of the accused stopped when
commanded to do so by police, while the
other two youth continued to run. A
member of the OPP Canine unit attended
to search for the two who continued to
run. Follow up investigation led to the
arrest of two more youth. A 14 -year-old
South Huron female has been charged
with one count of break and enter, A 15 -
year -old South Huron male has been
charged with one count of break and
enter and a 16 -year-old South Huron
male has been charged with one count of
break and enter. All three youth are in
Goderich Youth Court Jan. 10. The
fourth party involved, a 16 -year-old
South Huron female was held in police
custody for a bail hearing in Goderich.
`Nativity Story' movie on Sat., Dec. 8

GRANTON - At Granton -
Wesley United Church on
Sun., Nov. 25, Pastor Paul
Vollick led the service and
the message was entitled
`Searching for a King.' The
Scripture readings were
from Jeremiah 23, Luke 23
and Colossians 1.
Michelle McBurney lit the
Christ candle. Mary Waters
gave the minute for mission.
The ministry of music by the
choir was It's a Song of
Praise to the Maker. Time
was shared with the young
people of the congregation.
On Sat., Dec. 8, a movie of
the Nativity Story will be
shown at the church at
7 p.m.
At St. Paul's
Anglican Church in
Kirkton on Sun., Nov.
25, the Reverend
Dalice Sim celebrated
the Holy Eucharist.
The message was
about accepting the
pardon of Christ. Brent
Blackler read the lessons.
The minister at St. Paul's
last Sunday was Reverend
Ted Hales.
The Bethlehem Walk was
held on Fri., Nov. 23 at 7:45
p.m. at the Kirkton-
Woodham Community
Centre. It was a re-enact-
ment of the Christmas story
in a country setting and was
hosted by Centralia Zion
West, Thames Road,
Elimville, Kirkton-Woodham,
and Crediton United
Churches and St. Paul's
Anglican Church. Members
of St. Paul's choir took part.

'Food for Fines' —Three -and -a -half year old Abraham Wine -Spivey
stopped at the Exeter Library Friday to make a donation to the 'Food for
Fines' program, a countywide library program in conjunction with the
Health Unit to distribute non-perishable food items to local food banks.
This is the second year for the program, which sees libraries accept non-
perishable food in place of cash for overdue library fines.The week-long

Brownie enrolment
Ceremony — Last Thursday the Exeter Brownies held their enrolment
ceremony, during which they received their year pins and badges. Family
and friends gathered for refreshments for the ceremony. Pictured in
