Judith Ritchie was in charge of the regular church ser- vice on Sunday morning. Rev. Judith lit the Christ candle and everyone sang the hymn "Morning Has Broken". Rev. Judith spoke words of wel- come and everyone passed the peace. The Introit "We Praise You For Your Love" was sung. Rev. Judith led in the Call to Worship responsively and everyone read the opening prayer in unison. Ruth Anne Osgood read a minute for mission "About Korea" Judith Parker told everyone about the UCW meeting which is in the announce- ments. Rev. Judith read the announcements. Sharon Passmore lit the red candle for peace. Rev. Judith read the Old Testament Lesson Habakkuk 1:1-4, 2:1-4. Rev. Judith told Justin Pym "About What Comforts You", and the Lord's Prayer was sang in unison. The choir sang a challenging anthem which was much enjoyed accompa- nied by the pianist Jean Hodgert. Sharon Passmore read the Epistle Lesson 2 Thessalonians 1:1-5, 11- 12. The title of Rev. Judith's message was "All Kings of Manure". Everyone sang the hymn "Jesus' Hands Were Kind Hands", and everyone read Affirmation of our Faith - a New Creed. Kathy Bray and John Miner received the offering and Ruth Anne Osgood brought an item forward for the food bank. The doxology was sung and the offertory prayer was read in unison. Everyone sang happy birthday to Fred Delbridge whose birthday was Nov. 3 and to John Batten whose birthday is Thurs., Nov. 8. Rev. Judith said the grace and gave the commissioning and pro- nounced the benediction. Everyone sang the choral benediction and then went downstairs for lunch put on by the M&S committee. Announcements Rev. Judith will be at her home Wednesday morning and at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. The flowers at the front of the sanctuary are in loving memory of Jack Stewart, placed there by his family. This congregation sends their sympathy and will keep the family in their prayers. Future events Newsletter information from all committees to be in to Ruthanne Osgood by Nov. 11. Roll Call: A freedom we have that other coun- tries don't. Special: Bring a gift for the Christmas Bureau. Lunch: Helen Webber, Margaret Stewart, Beatrice Dawson and Virginia Warwick. The men of the congregation are invited to attend the Nov. 13 UCW meeting as well as any other guests. Donald Kernick, John Spence and Clare Wright will be sharing their recent experiences during a trip to Poland. They attended commemora- tion service for cousin Harold Brown who lost his life during WWII. Nov. 14 - Bethlehem Walk choir practice at Thames Road-Elimville UC at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at Woodham UC at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 18 - Centralia -Zion West Turkey Supper and Silent Auction at South Huron Rec Centre. Doors open at 4 p.m., dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Entertainment by the Exeter Community Band. Advance tickets. Adults $13, children 12 and under $6.50, adult tickets at the door $14. Personals Quite a number of Hodgert rela- tives attended the visitation for the late Don Mayo who passed away a week ago Wednesday at the Elliott - Madill Komoka Chapel on Sunday and also attended his funeral on Monday at the First Lobo Baptist Church. Don was married to the late Winnifred Hodgert. Sympathy is extended to the family and relatives. Many people from this area attended the visitation for the late Jack Stewart at the Haskett Funeral Home on Thursday and also attend- ed his funeral on Friday.
