'Out of the Cold' program needs volunteers for Nov 26

THAMES ROAD - Halloween Party: On Friday
evening the annual Halloween party was held at the
church. The basement was tastefully decorated for
the event. There were 45 kids and 42 adults in
attendance.
Prizes went to the following: ghosts, goblins, devils
- 1st Kyle Hern, 2nd Sam Horn; witches
- 1st Sydney Rowcliffe, 2nd Natalie THAMES
Hern; clowns - 1st Ashlynn Gower, 2nd
Scot Avkeye; cowgirls, cowboys, Indians; 1st Hunter
Brown, 2nd Justice Cooper; frogs and insects - 1st
Liam Swarthout, 2nd Elizabeth Benoit; storybook
characters - 1st Kaylee Geiger, 2nd Justin Pym;
Dracula, vampires, monsters - 1st Andrew Hodgert,
2nd Justin Steinbach; princess, fairy, fancy lady - 1st
Kinsley Richardson, 2nd Andrea Bird; farmyard ani-

The judges were Beth Cooper, Melonie Miller,
Judith Parker, Sharon Passmore. Crafts were
enjoyed as well as a delicious lunch and beverage.
Church Service
Rev. Judith Ritchie was in charge of the regular
church which was held in the basement on Sunday
morning. Rev. Judith lit the Christ candle, and
everyone sang the opening hymn Come and Find The
New owner — Curves in Exeter has a new look,
complete with a new owner, revolutionary fitness
equipment, new uniforms and fresh paint, showcasing
its changes through an open house Oct.22.Above,
standing, is new owner Ann Barteaux, while manager
Sid Reaburn sits on the new stretch machine.

Rev. Judith gave words of welcome and everyone
passed the Peace. Everyone sang the introit We
Praise You For Your Love.
Rev. Judith led in the call to worship responsively
and the opening prayer in unison.
Rev. Judith gave the announcements and everyone
sang Happy Birthday to Gordon Pengelly in honour
of his 95th birthday on Sun., Oct. 28.
Rev. Judith lit the red candle for
Peace and she prayed for the people
in Ireland, Africa, the Middle East,
South America, India, Eastern Europe and of the
West.
Rev. Judith read the Old Testament Lesson: Joel
2:23-32, and told the children a story about "helping
hands." The Lord's Prayer was sung in unison.
Psalm 65 was read responsively. The choir sang I'll
Tell The World accompanied by the pianist Marilyn
Vandenbussche.
The Epistle Lesson 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18 was
read by Rhoda Rohde.
The title of Rev. Judith's message was "Spells,
Charms and Potions."
Everyone sang the hymn Jesus Bids Us Shine and
everyone read the Affirmation of our Faith - " A New
Creed" was read in unison.
Lorraine Alexander and Pat Ballantyne received
the offering as well as being the greeters. The
Doxology was sung and the offertory prayer was
read in unison. rev. Judith read a reading entitled
"Seeds of Hope" and also said prayers of the people.
Everyone sang the closing hymn Fight The Good
Fight. Rev. Judith gave the commissioning and pro-
nounced the benediction. Everyone sang the choral
benediction.
Announcements
Rev. Judith expects to be at her home on
Wednesday morning and Presbytery business in the
p.m.
Thursday at the church from 5 to 7 p.m.

Sunday service will be held in the lower level of the
church on Nov. 25.
Outreach committee is having an M & S luncheon
on Nov. 4 following the church service.
Volunteers are needed for 'Out of the Cold' pro-
gram for Nov. 26. Please contact Joan Skinner at

at 7 p.m. followed by council meeting at 8:15 p.m.
