Imeson hearing Nov. 2
MIDDLESEX — Jesse Imeson is spending another month in custody,
as the disclosure of evidence in the murder of Mount Carmel area resi-
dents Bill and Helene Regier continues.
Imeson, appearing via video link from the Elgin -Middlesex Detention
Centre Oct. 15, spoke privately on the telephone with Frank Cameron,
acting as duty counsel for the Ontario Court of justice hearing.
Cameron then told the court that lawyer Raymond Boggs had been
retained by Imeson, and asked if Imeson could be remanded until
early November, allowing for further disclosure of evidence by the
Crown.
Imeson will appear by video hearing Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. He faces first-
degree murder charges in the shooting deaths of the Regiers found in
July, and a first-degree murder charge in the strangulation death of
Windsor bartender Carlos Rivera, also found in July.
Man loses vehicle
BLUEWATER — On Oct. 19 a traffic stop was initiated on Mill Road in
Bluewater for the offence of speeding. Further investigation confirmed
that the male driver, a 46 -year-old Bluewater man was prohibited from
driving. His vehicle was impounded and the driver was charged with one
count of an adult driving disqualified. He will appear in Goderich Court
Dec. 3.
Car dealership alarm scares suspects
EXETER — Police responded to an alarm at Huron Motor Products in
Exeter Oct. 19. Unknown suspects spun the lock to the south door,
however it appears they were scared off by the alarm.
`Smile Cookie' campaign raises
over $1,000 for SH Hospital
EXETER — Tim Hortons' Smile Cookie campaign was a success
with over $1,000 raised for the South Huron Hospital Association.
More than 1,000 of the double -sized chocolate chip cookies were sold
between Oct. 1 - 7 at the Exeter Tim Hortons location.
"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped
to make this year's campaign such an overwhelming success," said
Exeter Tim Hortons owner Linda Whaling. "Raising awareness for
South Huron Hospital Association through the Smile Cookie cam-
paign opens the door to more community involvement and ensures
that the funds raised in our community stays in our community. I
think that's something we can all smile about."
Each `Smile Cookie' sold for $1 (tax excluded) with all proceeds
donated to the South Huron Hospital Association.
The `Smile Cookie' program originally began in Hamilton in 1996 to
help raise funds for the Hamilton Children's Hospital. Since then, it
has expanded across Canada helping a variety of children's charities,
hospitals and community programs.
