Mitchell Finch scored his first goal of the year to tie the teams up! Excellent goal tending by Noah Rothbauer. Oct. 6 SH Novice White 5 Lambeth Two 3 Goals: Austin Glavin (3), Jesse Simpson, Lucas Toornstra Assists: Mitchell Dykstra, Lucas Toornstra, Trevor Mellin The boys worked hard the entire game!!! Scoring the first goals of the year were Jesse Simpson and Lucas Toornstra. Scoring the Hat Trick was Austin Glavin!!! Outstanding goal tending by Donovan Brewer. Oct. 13 SH Novice White 3 llderton Blue 2 Goals: Donovan Brewer, Mitchell Sutherland, Lucas Toornstra Assists: Brent Crawford (2), Trevor Mellin, Mitchell Sutherland Scoring their first goals of the season were Mitchell Sutherland and Donovan Brewer!!! Also scoring was Lucas Toornstra. The defensive corps of Mitchell Dykstra, Curtis Oude Voshaar, and Jake Gingerich played outstanding!!! There was a couple tense moments for goaltender Noah Rothbauer, but he pulled through for the win!! Great start to the season Novice White!!!! Forest 3 Goals: Matt Campbell (3), Jordan Skinner Assists: Brendan Van Osch, Jordan Skinner Next game: Oct. 21 in Monkton at 2:30 p.m. Court action - South Huron District High School volleyball teams hosted teams from Clinton and Central Huron Oct. 4.The SHDHS junior boys beat St.Anne's 2-1 and won all three sets against Central Huron to improve their record to 1 6-2. (photos/Pat Bolen) EXETER - The South Huron District High School senior boys vol- leyball team was at home Oct. 9 hosting St. Annes and Central Huron. In the first match South Huron defeated St. Annes three straight by scores of 25-9, 25- 19 and 25-16 before posting three wins over Central Huron with scores of 25-23, 25-12 and 25-19. The wins give the Panthers a record of 14 wins and four losses. Coach Scott Halpenny said outstanding play- ers were Ben Toornstra with good blocking and middle hits and Bryce Halpenny with consis- tent setting. Grant Masse also pro- vided strong left side hitting and good pass- ing said Halpenny who added the team put in a great effort with good serving and the ability to continue steady play. Stage one and two: Nicole Volochkov, Amber Bonvie, Kallie Bonvie, Mandy Masse, Veronica Rau and Jan Leeuwerke. Stage one, two and three: Jenna Bedard and Kayla Pettipiece. The club is also having its theme day Oct. 27, which is 'bring a friend day.' Adult skating lessons are in Zurich available from October to March, Saturday mornings from 11:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. There are adults only on the ice at this time with instructions by a certified Skate Canada coach. Skaters can learn at their own pace and level, including how to stop, do turns, skate backwards, dance, spins and jumps. Skate Canada testing is also available.
