Donate a light for your loved one at the Blue Water Rest Home

ZURICH - A lovely "80th"
birthday celebration was held
for Cecilia Farwell last Sunday.
which began with her children
and spouses attending 9 a.m.
Mass with their mother at St.
Boniface Church. In the after-
noon an open house was held in
her honour, well attended by
family members, relatives and
friends coming from various
places. Followed by a catered
meal for invited guest. (The
actual date of Cecilia's birthday
is on Oct. 18).
The annual C W L fall regional
meeting /day was held in
Stratford last Sat., Oct. 13 with
several League members
attending from the Huron -Perth
Deanery.
Those attending from St.
Boniface were president Deb
Pennings along with Joan and
Rose -Marie Regier and Carmel
Sweeney. Father Peter Keller
was present as our spiritual
director.
The event took place at St.
Michael's High School with
guest speaker coming from
Toronto Young Street Mission
(Evergreen Centre for street
youth).
May we offer our sincere sym-
pathy to the family and relatives
of the late Nora Corriveau who
passed away at 94 years old on
Oct. 9.
Stratford and District Right to
Life dinner will be held on
Thurs., Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at
Arden Park Hotel. Tickets cost
$25 person before Oct. 29. Call
Bella Soudant at 236-4178.
Fundraiser event
The Blue Water Rest Home
has a memorial Angel tree (Blue
Spruce) planted outside and lit
up. Anyone wanting to donate a
light for the tree can purchase
one for $25 in memory of a
loved one. A special service will
be held every year on the 3rd
Sunday evening in November.

Tara Bedard and friend
Richard Adkin of Budapest
spent the past two weeks visiting
with her parents Pat and Jane
Bedard and attended the wed-
ding of Rick's sister in London
on Oct. 13 (leaving on the 21st.)
The next Ladies Auxiliary
meeting will be held at the Rest
Home on Tues., Nov. 6 at 6:30
p.m.
Members are encouraged to
attend. Annual dues of $5 per-
son will be collected. The
Auxiliary will once again be sell-
ing chances on draws at the
annual residents family dinner
that is soon coming up on Sun.,
Nov. 4.

Story time at the Zurich Public
Library for kids is being held
every Friday morning from 9 to
9:45 a.m. until Nov. 16. To reg-
ister call 236-4965.
The families of Earl and Claire
Deichert got together recently
(19 in all) for dinner at Erb's
Country Kitchen to celebrate the
birthdays of Susan Deichert of
Ottawa who was 43 years old on
Oct. 6 and Cousin Margie
Deichert - 44th on Oct. 4 as well
as Thanksgiving.

Oct. 11 of R.R. #2 Zurich.
Apple Day Oct. 27
The Boy Scouts will be having
their annual Apple Day around
town on Sat., Oct. 27 from 10
a.m. to noon. Please donate.
On Sat., Oct. 27 the Bluewater
Zurich Skating Club is having a
`bring a friend day' when friends
are invited to come along skat-
ing. Also that day will be a sale
of all kinds of skating items from
3-D Fashions from Dorchester.
