Lucan Irish split pair of games
LUCAN - Hosting the Central
Elgin Express Oct. 3, the Lucan
Irish were twice down by one
goal, but fired three goals in the
third period for a 5-2 win.
After the Express took a 1-0
lead at 12:04 of the first period,
Lucan's Brendan Wraith tied it a
minute later.
The visitors again took the lead
early in the second period but it
was all Lucan after that.
Trevor Liddle tied the score two
minutes later and Adam Hartman
put the Irish ahead to stay with
32 seconds left in the period.
Nick Engel gave Lucan a 4-2
lead in the third period and Bob
Martin put the game away at
18:12 for the 5-2 win.
The Irish were in West Lorne
Saturday night and came out on
the short end of a 4-1 score.
Three goals in the first period
put the Lakers up 3-0 by the end
of the period, a margin they held
until the third.
Nick Engel got Lucan on the
board early in the period but it
was all they could get and the
Lakers added an empty net goal
for the 4-1 win.
