A large crowd with many visitors gathered to hear speaker, Elaine Cousineau of North Bay, a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (F.A.S.D.) consultant. F.A.S.D. is caused when a mother drinks while preg- nant. Brain damage occurs and these children have a life of difficulty as they are unable to handle money, remember or reason things through. Elaine was thanked by Betty Clarke and pre- sented with a gift. Devotions were taken by Dorothy Elliott, Marj Tuckey and Betty using "Thanksgiving" as their theme. Unit leader, Marion Kerslake opened the business portion with a minute of silence in remembrance of former member Agnes Aunger who passed away. Plans were made for our annual bazaar on Nov. 10. Elsie reminded everyone of the Villa Tea on Oct. 22 and the fall rally at night in St. Marys with Elly Van Bergen as the speaker. The evening closed with Jean Palmer's group serv- ing a tasty pumpkin dessert.
