REGIONAL WRAP UP • REGIONAL WRAP
Hit and run
MIDDLESEX — A cyclist was transported to LHSC
Victoria Hospital with non -life threatening injuries
after a hit and run Oct. 2 around 7:30 p.m.
The collision between the car and a cyclist occurred
on Richmond Street north of Nine Mile Road in
Middlesex Centre. The cyclist was northbound on
Richmond Street when he was hit from behind.
The driver of the vehicle, possibly a dark coloured
car, did not stop.
Middlesex OPP are asking the public to report any
vehicles that had been traveling north of London with
unaccounted for hood damage to the Communications
Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
Ball's Bridge to reopen
Saturday
CENTRAL HURON — A popular tourist attraction will
reopen after having closed down for many months,
reports The Citizen.
The historic Ball's Bridge will reopen Saturday, just
in time for light vehicular traffic to go across looking at
the fall colours.
The bridge was closed for safety purposes and the
cost to bring them up to standards. Initially it was to
close indefinitely.
After much public support for the scenic bridge, a
decision was reached by the county to turn the bridge
over to the municipalities of Ashfield-Colborne-
Wawanosh, as well as paying $250,000 to assist in
repairs.
The official opening will be marked with a ribbon
cutting Saturday at 2 p.m.

Kellers pleased to help campaign
The Keller family of Exeter is pleased to be able to help support the
South Huron Hopspital Capital Campaign. This generous donation will
assist the hospital in its program to fund new x-ray equipment and reno-
vations to the Emergency Dept. We have been residents of the community
for years and years. Our company is very active in the municipality and is
proud of the reputation of our health care provider.
— Jeff Keller
Our campaign launch of your
goal of $1 6 million has progressed
very well. We have received gifts
from service clubs, generous busi-
nesses and individuals. Now we
need the support of the rest of the
hospital community.
We encourage your business,
your community group or club to
welcome our campaign team
members when they ask for your
support and consider the impor-
tance of your campaign to the
health of those you love.
Our campaign will be in your
neighborhood the week of Oct. 22.
We will be canvassing door to door
to inform you and to ask for your
support.

Resident expresses
snowmobile concerns

as many as 500 snowmobiles.
"This is very noisy of course," Verbeek wrote. "The
gasoline fumes are not pleasant ... and we can
smell the fumes in the house."
Verbeek added her grandchildren are not able to
play or toboggan on her property because of safety
concerns.
The snowmobile traffic also damages her lawn, she
wrote.
Coun. Pete Armstrong wondered if snowmobilers
could take a different route as an alternative to
Verbeek's property.
After discussing the issue, it was decided the road
superintendent will meet with the snowmobile club
to discuss the issue.
