Your South Huron Hospital Capital
Campaign 2007 is at a special mile-
stone. We are at a "point of no return"
in your campaign.
Your campaign goal is to raise $1.6
million, and we have reached just over
$1.1 million!
Members of the campaign team are
to be applauded for taking up the chal-
lenge to raise these needed funds. We
are now entering the last few stages of
the campaign.
To help us launch our final push a
special event took place this past week-
end in Exeter.
Trivitt Anglican Church sponsored a
Thanksgiving Weekend Celebration
from Sept. 28 to 30. This past weekend
was very special and a great deal of
planning went into this event.
Of special significance was the Thanksgiving
Service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. This
event celebrated the 150th Anniversary of the
Diocese of IIuron. The celebration included the
Community Choir, made up of members of the sur-
rounding area, full orchestra and Soloists. The ser-
vice was followed by a Bluewater Shrine Fish Fry
under the Oktoberfest Tent. Speaking of the tent, an
Outdoor Beergarden was held Friday night with
super attendance! There was a German band there
until 11 p.m . On Saturday a "Crafters Market
Place" was visited by lots of shoppers until 3 p.m.
There were 30 crafters taking part in the market.
Imagine a hospital you would like for you, your
family and friends. Imagine a hospital with state-of-
the-art equipment, with space to meet patient traf-
fic now and into the future. Please come out to sup-
port and participate in this very special and impor-
tant community event.
The South Huron Hospital Foundation thanks the
Trivitt group for their hard work and generosity in
organizing the Thanksgiving Celebration.
Your hospital is there for you!
Are you there for your hospital?
Thanks for your participation.

Supporting MMP
On Oct. 10, Ontarians will have the opportunity to
improve the level of democracy in Ontario by voting
in Ontario's first ever referendum on electoral
reform. By voting in favor of "Mixed Member
Proportional" (MMP), voters will enhance the demo-
cratic process in Ontario.
The results of the last federal election provide
insight as to how MMP would improve democracy.
In the last federal election the Conservative Party of
Canada polled 36.3 per cent of the popular vote and
formed the government. On the other hand, the
Green Party of Canada polled 4.5 per cent of the
popular vote and didn't get a single seat in Ottawa!
It simply isn't fair or democratic, that the 4.5 per
cent who voted for the Green Party were completely
excluded from the House of Parliament in the "first
past the post", "winner takes all" system in place
during that election. Had MMP been adopted at the
federal level, several members of the Green Party,
representing the 4.5 per cent of Canadians who
voted for their policies would now be sitting on
Parliament Hill.
So, on Oct. 10, follow the advice of the indepen-
dent, non-partisan Citizens' Assembly on Electoral
Reform and vote in favour of MMP. Remember,
more democracy is good for your health!
