Choice steers and heifers sold 82 - 85 sales to 93.50. Second cut sold 80 - 82. Cows sold on a good steady market.. Thursday: Veal sold $5 higher. Lambs sold under pres- sure. Goats and Sheep sold steady.. Friday: Calves sold $5 lower and Yearlings sold on a steady market. Steers There were 376 steers on offer. Loomis Farms Ltd. of Ailsa Craig consigned 11 steers averaging 1465 lbs, selling for an average of 85.62, with seven limo steers averaging 1479 lbs, selling for 88.35. Five steers were consigned by Jim Wilson of Lucknow averaging 1415 lbs, selling for an average of 86.13, with one blk steer weighing 1460 lbs, selling to Norwich Packers for 88. Cunningham Noland Cattle Co of Lucan consigned 40 steers averaging 1442 lbs, selling for an average of 83.58, with one blk steer weighing 1510 lbs selling for 86.75. Mike Dalton of Goderich consigned six steers averaging 1464 lbs selling for an average of 84.68, with two red steers averaging 1495 lbs selling for 86. Jim Howatt of Londesboro, consigned 25 steers averag- ing 1469 lbs, selling for an average of 84.76 with one blk steer weighing 1485 lbs, selling for 85.75. Heifers There were 222 heifers on offer. The market at Denfield Livestock Sales traded at steady prices on all classes of fed cattle. Cows traded active at steady prices. A good offering of Holstein bull calves were in good demand at stronger prices. Stockers sold steady. Ron Gardner, Glencoe sold four head average weight 1243 average price 83.78. David Minielly, Wyoming sold six steers average weight 1430 average price 83.51 sales to 85.25 for three steers purchased by Norwich Packers. Mark Schepers, Parkhill sold nine head average weight 1241 average price 82.69.
