Centralia United celebrates their anniversary Oct. 14
By Mary Peterson
CENTRALIA CORRESPONDENT
CENTRALIA — It was another amazing fall weekend!
Many from the community enjoyed the community cel-
ebration throughout the weekend that was hosted by
Trivitt Anglican Church in Exeter. There was a wonder-
ful variety of crafts, food and music throughout the
weekend!
If you were in the Centralia area, you may have
noticed a lot of activity in the skies above the James T.
Field Memorial Airport. The cadets took advantage of
the great weather to get some more flying time in the
gliders.
On Sunday morning, Glenn's Terry -Air hosted a fly -in
breakfast, and many pilots decided it was a great time to
fly into Centralia. There were many makes and models
of small aircrafts parked on the tarmac while their pilots
and passengers enjoyed food and visiting.
Also on Sunday, while airplanes buzzed overhead, the
Community of Local United Churches hosted worship at
Centralia United Church. Many people joined in organiz-
ing and participating in worship to make it a fun time of
fellowship.
At the doors, Kay Tripp, Judy Mills, Carol Somerville,
Jason Essery and Mary Peterson greeted everyone.
The band members had connections with the Kirkton-
Woodham United Church, but travelled from as far
away as Windsor to share their upbeat music. The
church rocked with the sounds of drums and bass gui-
tars during many wonderful musical interludes.
Familiar songs such as Jesus Loves Me and Amazing
Grace partnered with new tunes and lively beats.
Judy Mills welcome everyone to worship and invited
the congregation to read the announcements at their
leisure.
Brenda Hern gave the scripture readings from Luke
17:5-10 and 2 Timothy 1:1-4.
