Great record —The U14 Boys Fury team placed first in the Western Middlesex Soccer League with a 12-1-0
record. They played many games where they blew out the other teams; yet as a team stayed composed throughout
the year. They went into the Challenge Cup with high hopes and won their first game 3-2 over Coldstream but lost
in the semi-finals to a good Delko Brydge team.Their coach Dan Caslick wishes them the best in their future and
hopes to see them playing in LDYSL next year. Back from left are Caslick,Tyler Durst, Stephen Boersma, Conner
Hamilton, Joost Bertens, Cian Hamilton and Peter Boersma. Front: Jeff Stire, Lucas Walper, Shawn Burtch, Craig
Branderhorst, Daniel Nogueria and Jake Partridge.Absent:Tanner Shapton. (photo/submitted)
Baseball champs – The Exeter #2 Peewees had a great year. The team went undefeated at the WOBA playdowns
in St. Marys, right into the final championship game. The team ended up facing Exeter# I Pee Wees in the finals. After
a good effort from both teams Exeter #2 came out on top to win the 'A' championship. The year end tournament
was at the Baseball Hall of Fame in St.Marys.Back from left:coach Jim Dietrich, Zack Waddell, Brandon Dinney and
Wes Lenting. Second row, Zach Shaddock, Brandon McVeeney, Kale McDonald,Adam Windsor, Jimmy McVeeney,
coach Shelly Bryson and coach Mary Lynn Dietrich. Front:Taylor Lightfoot,Travis Dietrich, Jordan Pache, Kurtis

Girls soccer — The South Huron 1 Lightning had an incredible season finishing as season champs and Challenge
Cup runners up.After starting the season with two losses the team rebounded to string together 14 consecutive
wins. Despite a tough draw; which included back -to -back-to-back games in the Challenge Cup, South Huron managed
to make it to the finals. In the final game South Huron allowed their first goal of the tourney and although they out-
played their opposition they could not muster a goal and were defeated. South Huron I should be proud of their
season because they improved greatly, showed a lot of heart and never gave up.Well done girls. Back from left are
coachYvonne Hundey, Magan Overholt, Jody Spring, Lindsay Branderhorst, Michelle DeRuiter,Abbey DeWeerd,
Nicole DeRuiter, Justine VanEsbroeck and coach Tim Hundey. Front: Katie Brand, Lindsay Mills, Colleen Willert, Kristin
