POLICE BRIEF
Drug buy leads to
search warrant
GRAND BEND — On Aug. 31 it is
alleged that officers from the
Lambton OPP and the Sarnia
Police Joint Forces Drug Unit
observed a drug transaction take
place between two male persons
on a Grand Bend street. Both
were arrested and taken into cus-
tody. A 40 -year-old Grand Bend
resident was found with a quanti-
ty of cash and on the other, a 28 -
year -old Grand Bend resident,
was a small quantity of suspected
cocaine. Acting on the evidence
seized, officers executed a search
warrant at a Shady Lane resi-
dence. Located within that resi-
dence was a variety of illicit drugs
as well as paraphernalia that
would indicate drug trafficking.
Seized was over 25 grams of
cocaine, a small quantity of sus-
pected marijuana, four Oxycodone
tablets a small quantity of sus-
pected hash and a small quantity
of cannabis resin. The street value
of all seized drugs is approximate-
ly $3,000. A 40 -year-old Grand
Bend man has been held for a bail
hearing in Sarnia Court facing six
charges under the Controlled
Drugs and Substances Act. The
other faces a charge of possession
of a controlled substance.
