Caskanette, his wife Nicole and their two sons Alex and Nick will pull up their 14 year roots in Lucan Nov. 1, moving to London. In a news release issued by Caskanette at Lucan Biddulph council Monday night, Caskanette states, "The reasons are varied, and for the most part of a personal nature," adding, "It is with a certain amount of sadness that we pull up our family roots to explore the next chapter of our lives." While sitting down with the T -A, Caskanette said he thinks the move will be a "positive change for the family," explaining they are deciding to down- size their home. "Our home (in Lucan) is beautiful, but huge." Caskanette says he is looking at spending some more time travelling in the near future, with less maintenance of the house and yard. Caskanette, who is employed with the Perry Caskanette London and District Catholic School Board as the head of the science department at John Paul II High School in London, says liv- ing in London will allow him to be clos- er to work as well as more easily pursue a position as vice-prin- cipal of a high- school in the future. "London is a more central location," says Caskanette. Caskanette has bought a residence on Alice Street in Lucan in order to contin- ue serving the municipality as deputy mayor. "I am confident that I can continue to bring ideas and energy to the council table and represent the taxpayers effec- tively and conscientiously," says Caskanette, who has three years left as deputy mayor. "I have worked hard over these past four years because I believe Lucan Biddulph is worth the effort. I thank you for your past and future support during this transitional phase of my life."
