Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital, Goderich,
August 30, 2007,
William Victor "Vic"
Dinnin of Goderich,
formerly of Zurich, in
his 96th year. He was prede-
ceased by his beloved wife
Lylyan (Rader) Dinnin (1982).
Vic will be missed as a loving,
cherished father and grandfather
by Bill and Cheryl Dinnin of
Grand Bend and grandchildren
Aimee Dinnin and her partner
Andrew Huff and Will and
Sheila Dinnin of London. He is
survived by his sisters Audrey
Munn, Laura Barr and Wilma
Jackman, sisters-in-law Lois
Dinnin and Joy Dinnin Shore
and brother -m -law Bob Barr. He
was predeceased by his brothers
Albert, Art and Harry Dinnin,
brothers-in-law Ted Munn and
Ernie Jackman. He will be
missed by his special friend Edna
Stephens and by many nieces
and nephews. Vic was born
January 10, 1912 near Cromarty,
Huron County. He was the last
surviving charter member of the
Zurich Lions Club, a Past
District Governor and Council
Chair of Lions. He taught school
in Stanley Township on the Parr
Line, Zurich Public School, as
principal, and South Huron High
School for a total of 33 years.
He and Lyl operated the Garden
Lunch and Sea-Vue Cottages in
Grand Bend for a number of
summers through the 1940's and
50's. He had a lifelong interest
in flying, especially in his
Stinson, and spending time at his
cottage (Idyl Isle) on Georgian
Bay over the past 50 years. A
Memorial Service to celebrate
Vic's life was held at the St.
Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich
on September 9, 2007. The Rev.
Ann Krueger officiated.
Interment St. Peter's Lutheran
Cemetery. If desired, memorial
donations to St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Zurich or Zurich Lions
Club will be gratefully acknowl-

LOVE, DR. ROBERT F. -
B.A.Sc.,M.B.A., PhD., P Eng.,
Professor Emeritus of
Management Science at
McMaster University in Ontario,
passed away peacefully at his
home in Naples, Florida on
August 18, 2007 after a very
courageous fight with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 47
years, Ingrid A. (Conway) Love,
his children, "Laura Roberta
Peaker and her husband Mark,
Valerie Grace Love, Kevin
Conway Love and grandchildren
Julia, Claire, Ross, Helaina,
Robert, and Christina. Also sur-
vived by his sister, Helen
McKay. Predeceased in death by
a brother Keith Love. He will be
greatly missed by his immediate
and extended family and his
many friends and former stu-
dents. Bob had a knack of
quickly making friends and then
making them honorary and loyal
members of his extended family.
Bob had a very distinguished
academic career. He began his
university education at the
University of Toronto with an
engineering degree and after
working in the industry contin-
ued on to obtain an M.B.A. at the
University of Western Ontario
and a Ph.D. at Stanford
University. He taught at
Berkeley, Western, and the
University of Wisconsin, before
coming to McMaster from the
University of Wisconsin to help
establish the PhD program in the
Faculty of Business. Bob pub-
lished some eighty articles in sci-
entific journals, supervised 12
PhD students to completion and
co-authored a very influential
book in his specialty. He had a
great influence on the field of
location theory. There is now a
very large body of research
based on his original and seminal
work. He also served on many
high level academic committees
and editorial boards. In 1999,
the year he retired, he received
the Lifetime Achievement in
Location Analysis Award. This
is an award given only every
three years on behalf of a large
international and interdiscipli-
nary research community and
recognizes the impact of the total
contribution of the winner to the
field. Besides his family and his
academic career, Bob's other
passion was farming. He was
brought up on his family farm in
Huron County, Ontario, which
he subsequently purchased, and
continued to manage. A
Memorial Service and
Celebration of Bob's Life will be
held on Saturday, September
15th at 1 o'clock P.M. at Saint
Jude Anglican Church, 160

MELVILLE - At London Health
Sciences Centre, Victoria
Hospital, on September 5, 2007,
Frances (Fran) Helen Melville
(Scott), died after a brave fight
with cancer, after spending all
day with her mother and sisters,
and with her husband by her
side. Fran was born on
December 26, 1951. Beloved
wife and best friend of James
Albert Melville, and cherished
daughter of Hazel Scott of Exeter
and the late Gordon Scott (1988).
Much Loved sister of Ina
Finlayson (Reginald), Dorothy
Eyre (Douglas), Anna Scott
(Frank), and Agnes Akins
(Wayne), and sister-in-law of
Ann Brown (nee Melville) (Jim),
and Judy Melville. Dear step-
mother of James (Jay) Melville
(Rebecca), Linda Ramey (nee
Melville) (David), and Angela
Johnston (nee Melville) (Brent).
Also survived by many nieces
and nephews, and 6 step -grand-
sons. Special thanks to the nurs-
es, especially Sue, on Zone C 7th
floor 200 Wing. Their dedica-
tion and empathy was greatly
appreciated by the family.

London where the funeral ser-
