Volunteers needed for Sparks, Beavers and Brownies

ZURICH - Congratulations to Ken Rau and Cheryl
Colson who were married on Sat., Sept. 8 on the Lady
Muskoka Boat Cruise in Bracebridge, Ontario. Ken is
the son of Clarence and Sharon Rau. The couple live in
Zurich.
Congratulations go out to Brian Vermunt and Ashley
Sacrey who were married on Sept. 8 in Manheim,
Ontairo near Kitchener with dinner and reception held
there with several relatives attending from the area.
The groom is the son of Walter and Brenda Vermunt
RR 2 Zurich.
Skating club
Bluewater - Zurich Skating Club registration will be
held again on Sat., Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the
complex. For more information call Kathy Steckle at
236-4080.
St. Peter's C.W.L. (St. Joseph) held their meeting Sept.
4 in the parish hall.
Recently the lucky winner of their quilt was Nicole
Frijters.
Bluewater Rest Home
Elvis Presley and Patsy Kline impersonators will enter-
tain the residents at the rest home Wed., Sept. 12 at
6:30 p.m.; Fri., Sept .14 Grand Bend Seniors Band per-
form at 2:30 p.m.; Mon., Sept. 17 - Goderich musical
group coming at 2:30 p.m.; Tues., Sept. 18 - Highland
dancers at 6:30 p.m.; Wed., Sept. 19 - Harvey and
friends at 6:30 p.m.
An end of summer neighbourhood had a get-together
and pot luck BBQ supper was held on Aug. 31 at the
home of Martha and Willie Overholt with 16 people
attending. We all had a great time and plan to do it
again next year.
The Alzheimer's Coffee Break will be held again at the
Bluewater Rest Home on Tues., Sept. 18 at 2:15 p.m.
with a guest speaker coming Everyone is invited to
attend and bring along a friend.
Shawn LaPorte son of Isidore and Paula and Debra
Pfaff have recently moved into the former home of Brian
Steckle on Centre St. in Zurich.
Chad Masse son of Rick and Karen and Amanda
Thompson have recently moved into the former home of
Terry Zehr. Terry and his new wife Maria have moved
to the Hess -Woods subdivision in Zurich.
St. Boniface CWL meeting will be held on Tues., Sept.
18 with Patty Hunt and Martha Overholt's group in
charge of a pot -luck supper at 6:30 p.m. following the 6
p.m. Mass.
The guest speaker will be Leeanne Bechard who will
talk about her recent missionary service in Guatemala
this summer Everyone is welcome to attend.
Fitness classes are being held at St. Boniface School on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as
well as on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. All ages
and fitness levels are welcome. For more info call

Building fund for St. Boniface
Pop cans are still being collected by St. Boniface K. of
C. for our building fund. They can be dropped off any
time by the door at the homes of Doug Debus - Zurich,
John Jacobs - Hensall, or Mike Miller - St. Josephs.
Ed and Dorothy Smith, Zurich along with Don and
Darlene Smith of Barrie recently returned from a three
and a half week holiday. They travelled to White Horse
and Dawson City, Yukon and drove the Dempster
Highway to the Arctic Circle and Inuvik, NWT. They
also travelled the Top of the World Highway to Fairbank
Alaska. While touring the area they saw many black
bear, buffalo and caribou. In Hyder they saw grizzly
bears catching salmon.
Mrs. Carole Kyle of Chilliwack, B.C. spent three weeks
visiting her mother Alice Thiel and her brother and his
wife Dr. Doug and Lois Thiel. While in Zurich she spent
time with her daughter Deborah and family and her son
Scott and family of Halifax, N.S.
Sparks, Brownies and Guides
The summer has flown by and the guiding season is
already upon us! Registration for the 1st Zurich Spark,
Brownie and Guide units will be held at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church in Zurich at 6:30 p.m. on Wed., Sept.
12.
Volunteer helpers are needed for the year. Sparks are
five and six year old, Brownies are seven and eight year
old, Guides are nine to 11 year old. Any questions or to
pre -register call Michelle at 237-3398.

WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM MASTER PLAN
CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
NOTICE OF STUDY COMPLETION
The purpose of this notice is to inform local
residents and property and business owners that the
Municipality of South Huron has completed a Class
Environmental Assessment to evaluate water
servicing requirements for Ward 1 (former Stephen
Township). Four alternative solutions were identified
and evaluated during the planning process. Based on
this evaluation, alternative solution No. 4, "Selected
Water Distribution System Upgrades", was selected as
the preferred solution. Proposed Water Distribution
System upgrades include reconfiguring the Gore Road
connection to the LHPWSS, servicing the Dashwood
area from the Exeter-Hensall Feedermain, and
construction of a new water tower in Huron Park.
The study was completed in accordance with the
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment planning
process document as a Schedule "B" activity. A
Master Plan Report has been prepared to document
the planning and decision-making process followed by
this study. By this notice, the Master Plan Report is
being placed on public record for a 30 -day review
period.
The Master Plan Report will be available for public
review from September 12, 2007 until October 12,
2007 at the following locations:

If concerns arise during the prescribed Review
Period that cannot be resolved through discussions
with the Municipality of South Huron, a person or
party may request that the Minister of Environment
make an order for the project to comply with Part II
of the Environmental Assessment Act. This request
(commonly referred to as a Part II Order) must be
received within the above prescribed 30 calendar day
review period by the Minister, at the address listed
below and copied to Mr. Don Giberson at the
Municipality of South Huron. If no request is received
on or before October 12, 2007, the Municipality may
proceed with detailed design and construction of the
project.
