Weekend yard sale in Varna begins Friday

VARNA CORRESPONDENT
VARNA - The Varna U.C.W. had their annual
dinner and theatre meeting on Thurs., Aug. 23.
Forty ladies were carpooled to Blyth to the United
Church where the Blyth Church
women served a very delicious dinner.
Pastor EllyVan Bergen led with the
singing of the Blessing.
Leader Deb Rathwell welcomed all U.C.W. and
friends. She also thanked Ruth Johnston and
Bernice Reid for all their hard work arranging the
evening and thanked all the ladies that did the
driving.It was good to have Bernice Reid amongst
us again.
Joyce Dowson thanked the Blyth ladies for the
delicious dinner.
Treasurer Margaret Hayter sent the financial
statement around and mentioned that cookbooks
are still being sold.
A thank you was read from Brian and Karen
Van Aaken. Brian Van Aaken by the way is back
on his two feet again since his accident.
Thank you to all whom collected for Erin Keys
Bridal Shower. Thanks to Sjoukje Steenbeek for
serving the cookies at Vacation Bible School and
also for delivering them to Camp Menesetung.

Cameron Laurie son of Willi and Joe Laurie was
the house manager at the Blyth Theatre.
The Stephenson family had a family get together
at Dale and Sandra's in London last weekend to
celebrate all August birthdays and anniversaries

tion attended the church service in Egmondville
on Sunday. Church service will resume in Varna
on Sept. 2 with Pastor Elly Van Bergen.
