DRINKING WATER SOURCE PROTECTION COMMITTEE COMPOSITION
Ausable Bayfield and Maitland Valley Source Protection Committee
Under O. Reg. 288/07, Clean Water Act, 2006
As outlined in the Clean Water Act, 2006, the Ausable Bayfield and Maitland Valley Source Protection Committee
is being created according to provincial regulation. The Source Protection Committee will oversee a science -based
planning process to develop a Source Protection Plan to protect municipal sources of drinking water in the Ausable
Bayfield and Maitland Valley Source Protection Region. The Regulation establishes a committee of 15 members,
excluding the Chair. Originally, one committee member was to have represented the Health Sector. However, the
Regulation provides that the interests of the Health Sector are to be represented by a liaison appointed by the Min-
ister. Therefore, the seat formerly identified for Health is no longer required. In order to better represent the broad,
multi -sectoral interests of the planning region, an additional representative will be selected to fill that place. The
revised composition of the committee is listed below:
Municipal Sector Economic Sector Other Interests
Municipal (5) Agricultural (3) Environmental (2)
Commercial (Business/Tourism) (1) Landowner/Property (1)
Industry/Manufacturing (1) Public at Large (2)

will submit top candidates within each sector by September 11, 2007 to the Source Protection Authority. For general
