Brussels Livestock Market Report for the
week ending July 20, 2007.
Total receipts
2152 head of cattle, 973 lambs and goats.
Summary
Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold steady.
Choice steers and heifers sold 96 - 100 sales to 104.
Second cut sold 93 - 96. Cows sold $3 - $4 higher.
Thursday: Veal sold on a strong active trade. Heavy
Lambs sold $2 - $5 lower, while the light Lambs sold
steady. Sheep and Goats sold steady.
Friday: Calves and Yearlings sold on a strong active
trade.
Steers
There were 483 steers on offer.
Walter Nicholson of Monkton, consigned 14 steers
averaging 1392 lbs, selling for an average of 97.10.
With one roan steer weighing 1325 lbs, selling to
Norwich Packers for 102.
Cunningham Noland Cattle Co. of Lucan, consigned 37
steers averaging 1387 lbs, selling for an average of
97.46. With two limo steers averaging 1360 lbs, selling
to Dominion Meat Packers for 99.75.
Lori Gimbel of Elmwood, consigned eight steers aver-
aging 1414 lbs, selling for an average of 99.06. With
five gold steers averaging 1408 lbs, selling to Ryding
Regency for 99.25.
Enoch Martin of Proton Station, consigned 10 steers
averaging 1407 lbs, selling for an average of 98.55.
With four limo steers averaging 1341 lbs, selling to
Dominion Meat Packers for 99.25.

POLICE BRIEFS
Guns stolen from
residence
BLUEWATER - Two guns were
stolen from a residence on Babylon
Line in Bluewater July 22. The
thieves opened the locked gun cabinet
and took two long guns, one reming-
ton rifle and one remington shotgun
and an undisclosed amount of shot-
gun ammunition. The thieves ran-
sacked the residence also stealing a
quantity of jewellery. The guns stolen
were a 94 Winchester, serial number
44935203 and a Ranger Winchester,
serial number 61601408.
