Crediton fastball team splits games
CREDITON - The Crediton Jr./Int.
team split its two league games this
past week. The local squad
lost to Byron 11-3 and the
next night defeated
Dorchester Sportswear 11-
6.
Crediton 3 vs Byron
11
Crediton struggled to hit
Byron's pitches, combined
with some offensive and
defensive errors, the team
found itself constantly try
to play `catchup'.
Byron jumped on the scoreboard
early scoring two runs in the first
inning. The third inning seemed to
be Crediton's demise when they
allowed Byron to score six runs.
Byron's bats were very powerful
keeping fielders Angie Gould, Cathy
Conlin and Kerri Fulton busy. All
three fielders played exceptional,
keeping the game within reach.
Kathy Glen played a very strong
third base with a double play.
Kerri Fulton led her team at the
plate with two singles. Angie Gould
pounded out a long ball in the sixth
inning scoring two runs, but was
called out at home. Megan
Preszcator pounded out a nice dou-
ble in the second and was sent
home by one of
Fulton's singles. Single
hits came from the bats
of Amber Preszcator,
Kathy Glen, and
Marianne Scott.
Scott pitched the
seven innings for
Crediton.

an
ator
'hot spot' but was also 'hot' at the

two singles.

clinch the win with a triple

the second inning. Nikki
Cyr successfully hit single
hits in her first three trips
to the plate. Kathy Glen

with a double and smartly

last night and head to Stronach Park
on Sunday night for an 8:15 start.
The local squad is enjoying a great
fan base and the team is very appre-
