Congratulations to Jean Copeland of Woodham, who was hon- oured with the Kirkton- Woodham Optimist Club Annual Community Service Award at a ban- quet held at the Community Centre in Kirkton on Friday evening, June 22. At the Granton -Wesley United Church on Sun., June 24 Pastor Paul Vollick led the commu- nion service. The mes- sage was entitled "Teach me to Pray" and the Scripture reading was from Luke 11. Michelle McBurney lit the Christ candle. The ministry of music by the choir was Draw a Circle Wide. The theme of the children's time was Tallit. Paul Vollick has gradu- ated from his training program and is now a Designated Minister at Granton -Wesley United Church. The Vacation Bible School is planned for July 30 to Aug. 3 each morning at the church and the theme this year is "Water." At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on Sun., June 24, Rev. Dalice Sim celebrated the Holy Eucharist and gave a report about the five motions on the floor at Synod concerning the blessing of same sex unions. The lessons were read by Kate Henry. The Scripture Readings were from Isaiah 40, Acts 13 and Luke One. There will not HENSALL NEWS be regular Sunday ser- vices at St. Paul's during July and will resume the second Sunday of August. Regular services will be held during the summer at St. James Anglican Church in St. Marys. Graduate - Kaitlin Van Osch graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree in Media, Information and Technoculture. Kaitlin is currently working at CIBC in London. Congratulations Kait!
