Alterations to Shorelines & Watercourses Regulation
On May 9, 2006, local regulations to implement Ontario
Regulation 97/04 (O. Reg. 97/04) - Regulation of
Development, Interference with Wetlands and Alterations
to Shorelines and Watercourses, became effective. Each
Conservation Authority has a local regulation to implement
O. Reg. 97/04. The main objective of regulations made
under O. Reg. 97/04 is to ensure public safety with regards
to natural hazards through issuance of permits for works
within or in proximity to lakes, rivers, streams or wetlands,
as may be required.
