(photo/Nina Van Lieshout) By Nina Van Lieshout TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF EXETER — Belongers has moved its ministry to a brand new location at 63 Main St. in Exeter. The newly renovated and much bigger spot includes a lounge, nursery, main event room, resource room and computer room which pastors Isabelle and David Gagne say "would not be made possible without the countless hours spent by volunteers and the generous donations of the community." Belongers focuses on a couple of different messages. Although a Christian ministry, David says anyone is able to drop in without thinking religion will be forced on them, something that some people may be wary of. "We are more interested in reaching people that don't go to church," David adds, saying also that Belongers is not in competition with churches in Exeter. "Relationships" is something else Isabelle and David are establishing with people. "We are trying to bring the unity back into communi- ty," says David. Isabelle and David are also pleased to see "new people every week." Belongers offers weekly events including a live webcast every Sunday with Joel Osteen from Houston, "Kids Are Our Specialty" after school activities on Wednesday and Friday movie nights which include pre -released DVD's. Belongers also has many other events, like their Second Annual Belongers Bike Rodeo coming up soon. The grand opening last Saturday, complete with refreshments, hot dogs, popcorn and face painting attracted many people from the Exeter community. Isabelle and David were pleased with the turnout. Belongers is a charitable organization which does not have a membership or cost any money to attend. Anyone is able to drop in and participate in the min- istry. It could be quite a long way if Bill 102 is passed. Bill 102 will cut critical funding that pharmacies rely on to operate. This means up to 300 local and rural pharmacies may be forced to close. Many people will have to travel outside their own communities for prescriptions and medical advice. But that's not all. There'll be longer waiting times to fill your prescriptions and receive answers to questions about your health. Many pharmacies that do remain open will probably have to reduce hours of operation and staffing levels. And some drugs will not be available as quickly as they are now. Is this really the kind of health care you want? Bill 102 must be fixed before it goes too far. Call Carol Mitchell at 1-866-396-3007 or email cmitchell.mpp@liberal.ola.org by June 5th.
