Hensall community yard sale scheduled for Sat., May 27

ZURICH - The `large items' Garbage pick up for the
Village of Zurich will be held on Mon., May 22. All items
must be out by early that morning or the evening before.
It is nice to see that the Zurich Women's Institute
members still keep up with things as they usually get
together on Mondays in the afternoon at Erb's Country
Kitchen for friendship and talk over ideas. Last week 10
ladies came for lunch and held their monthly meeting at
the home of President Bridget Groot.
Josephine Denomme of Maplewood Apartment spent a
few days last week at the home of her daughter, Deb
and Jim Gavan in Camlachie.
The Sweeney girls (five sisters) enjoyed a weekend in
Toronto. They celebrated Heather's recent birthday
which was on May 10. Beth attended a conference while
in Toronto.
The Grade four students of Zurich Public School had a
Medieval Feast on May 12 complete with their own cos-
tumes for the theme. Track and field will be held May
26.
On Thurs., May 18, Grade six, seven and eight classes
are having a drug awareness presentation in the gym.
Mom's remember there is no school for the children
on Mon., May 22, the holiday weekend.
The Grade eight students at St. Boniface School are
having a fundraiser event on May 19. "Duct Tape" their
teacher Ms. Dack to the wall. Money raised will go
toward their graduation trip to Quebec.
Residents at Blue Water Rest Home will be entertained
with music and a bus trip to Aunt Gussies in Grand Bend
for lunch is scheduled for May 19 at 2:30 p.m.
Community Living will play Bingo on Tues., May 23 at
2 p.m. In the evening Grand Bend United Church ladies
will host the monthly Birthday Party at 6:30 p.m.
Highland Dancers are entertaining on Wed., May 24 at
6:30 p.m. The public are welcome to attend any of these
events at the Blue Water Rest Home.
Thank you to the St. Boniface Knights of Columbus
and helpers for the delicious Mother's Day breakfast in
the Parish Hall on Sunday.
A Big Thank You goes out to all of my family for the
lovely Mother's Day meal and get together, Sunday in
Grand Bend at the home of Beth and Joe Boyle. They all
got me a new bike!! Wait till you see it.
A bridal shower was held for Sheri Shaw fiance of
Blake Schade on Saturday afternoon at Black Bush
Schoolhouse. Blake is the son of Anne Schade of
Dashwood. Several friends and relatives attended. The
couple will be married on May 27.
Seniors from the area have been participating at the
Senior Games. On Wed., May 17, 10 a.m. Cribbage will
be played in Londesboro at the Community Centre. May
18 and 19 Five -Pin Bowling, 10 a.m. at Clinton Crown
Lanes. Shuffle Board will take place Tues., May 23, 10
a.m. at the Mitchell Arena. Wed., May 24 is walking in
Goderich.
Euchre in Glencoe May 29, 10 a.m. Contract Bridge in
St. Mary's at the Community Centre. Carpet Bowling in
Mitchell on Tues., May 30. Call Gwen 236-7209 if you
would like to attend any of these events.
The benefit dance for Karmen Bedard will be held
Sat., May 20 at the Zurich Complex from 8 p.m. to 1
a.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
The Hensall Community Yard Sale will be held on Sat.,
May27.
The next Lions Club meeting is on Wed., May 24 with
dinner at 7 p.m.
St. Boniface Parish are still collecting empty pop cans.
The St. Boniface School is collecting Campbell Soup
labels.The Hensall Generals Hockey Club had there year
end Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet at Bayview
Golf Course. Once again Greg Geoffrey was presented
with most of the teams hardware winning, Most
Improved and Most Sportsman -Like player for 2005/06.
In his acceptance speech he thanked veteran players
Joe Boyle and Scott Bogart for helpingin him become the
player he is today.
The Grand Bend Motorplex National Event will be held
June 2 to 4. The Bluewater-Zurich Skating Club is
responsible for the ticket stubbing at this event. Anyone
who would like to help the club by taking a three or four
hour shift is invited to do so. In return for your work and
time, you will gain free admission to the National Event
for the full weekend.
All shifts on Friday are full, but there are still time
available for Saturday and Sunday afternoon. You must
be at least 16 years old. To participate, klopps@hay.net

service which is currently being used to transport indi-
viduals from Zurich to Bank of Montreal Hensall (BMO)
will be discontinued.
