Special Mother's DayTea a success
HENSALL — Carol Lebeau's
wonderful piano music, refresh-
ments, and love for their mothers
drew numerous family members
to Queensway's Sunday afternoon
Mother's Day Tea. It was gratify-
ing to have a full house of resi-
dents and guests on such a special
day.
Monday afternoon the Hensall
United Church women provided
assistance and prizes for all the
bingo participants. In the evening
crokinole fans in the retirement
residence enjoyed some friendly
competition.
Social Worker, Shirley Hall facili-
tated the monthly Family Council
meeting Tuesday morning. Family
and friends of residents are
encouraged to be part of the
Family Council and anyone inter-
ested can call 262-2830 ext 224
for further details. In the after-
noon Shirley Luther of the
Salvation Army with her husband
Eric as volunteer pianist led wor-
ship.
Auxiliary volunteer, Francis
Kinsman was in Wednesday to
help organize the euchre games.
She had three tables of euchre
enthusiasts benefiting from playing
their favourite game.
In the retirement residence
Thursday afternoon, Wilbert
Schwint had everyone in the
lounge entertained as he played
the "Whiskey Bottles." He fills
each bottle to varying degrees
therefore drawing different musi-
cal notes from each one. It was a
fascinating performance.
Residents were busy Friday
afternoon working on making gift
tags. We've been pleased with the
number of people dropping off
their cards for us to use.

Words of wisdom to beauti
EXETER - On Tues., May 9 Anna -
Marie Cook welcomed 25 ladies to
our monthly CWL meeting. We
opened with our league prayer.
Elaine Keller introduced Carla
Goodfellow and spoke about two
businesses she and her husband Eric
run in Exeter, Godalt Lanscape
Design and Seasonals. Carla gave
great suggestions to beautify our
properties and ended with wonder-
ful words of wisdom.
Plant your garden with three rows
of peas: Peace of mind, piece of
heart, and piece of soul.
Four rows of squash: Squash gos-
sip, squash indifference, squash
grumbling and squash selfishness.
Four rows of lettuce: Lettuce be
faithful, lettuce be kind, lettuce be
patient, and lettuce really love one
another. Turnip for meetings, turnip
for service, and turnip to help one
another. Four rows of thyme:
Thyme for each other, thyme for
family and thyme for friends, thyme
for laughter.
A new fundraising idea will be
proposed at the 9 a.m. Mass on Sun.,
May 21. Please give Michelle Sereda
and her enthusiastic ladies from
Food for Faith your undivided atten-
tion and full support.
