A prelude "Part Of The Family" was sung by the Mothers and Daughters Quartette: Joyce Dowson and daughter Brenda Consitt; Mona Stephenson and daughter Debbie Rathwell. BM and Joyce Dowson and family lit the Christ candle to begin worship. Leisa Stephenson spoke to the chil- dren on "Families are All Different" and the message by Joyce Dowson was "What Makes a Family Strong." The Mothers and Daughters Quartette also favoured everyone with another number "I WM Serve Thee" and the choir sang "Plenty of Room in the Family." Alysha Dowson shared her gift of music and also sang. Sun., May 21 Tom Dunbar will lead in worship in Goshen. Sat., May 27 get your ticket for the Blyth Festival Singers & Special Guest Soloist Lesley Andrew of the Shakespearean Festival presenting "The Magic of Musicals Cabaret Dinner," Concert and Silent Auction at the Stanley Complex in Varna. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30. The cost of the ticket is $20 per adult and children under 12 are $12. Sun., May 28 is Conference Sunday at Kippen. Five Alive present Helena McShane speaking on her experi- ences in Zambia. The offering will support Kwonda Day Centre or Flying Angels School in Zambia so please leave your Church envelopes at home. Mark travels through Canada sharing his strong tenor voice, captivating stage presence and marvelous sense of humour! Joe had a little bit of information on each player. After the round robin of play Ray Kappes from the St. Jacobs Club came in first. Ray was the 2003 win- ner at the Worlds in Tavistock as well he won the Ontario Championship and St. Jacobs Titles and this year he was Club Champion. Joes states he is always a tough opponent. Brian Cook also playing for the St. Jacobs Club came in second. Brian was the recent win- ner at the Schneider Haus and finished second at the Worlds in Tavistock in the last two years. Joe Fulop himself finished with a very close third and he is the World Champion!!! In fourth place was Bruce Hartung from Palmerston and he was the 2005 Tavistock win- ner!! Tying for fifth spot were Varna Club Members Abe Leitch and Jason Beierling. Abe was the Recreation Division Winner in Tavistock in 2005 and top player in the Varna Club this year. Jason was the Doubles Winner at Tavistock twice and finalists in singles in Tavistock once. He has been a prominent local player for many years. Other Random winners were Conrad Sitter from the Varna Club and Ivan McClymont also from the Varna Club. Conrad is an entrant at every major tourna- ment accept Tavistock over the years. He is one of the best players from the Varna Club. Ivan is a long time player from Varna. He has been a previous winner of this tournament as well as being Club Champion at Varna. Many thanks to Joe for all the work he put into plan- ning this well run tournament and congratulations to all winners and players going on to play in the Worlds in Tavistock on June 3. Wilhelmina Laurie better known as Willi is retiring from 33 years of teaching. Everyone is welcome to attend a Retirement Open House held in Willi's honour on Sun.., June 4 from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Colborne Central Public School. Congratulations Willi.
