THE FOLLOWING WEEKS 1 WOULD LIKE TO CONCENTRATE
ON RECIPES RELATING TO YOUR BBQ! I JUST LOVE TO PUT
THE MAJORITY OF THE MEAL OUT ON THE QUE I LOVE THE
CLEANUP, 1 LOVE THE FACT THAT RANDY OFTEN COOKS IT
AND I REALLY ENJOY THE TASTE. OF LATE 1 HAVE BEEN
TRYING VARIOUS MARINADES, UNIQUE VEGGIES, AND A
VARIETY OF RECIPES TO PUT IN SOME NEW IDEAS FOR THIS
YEAR. 1 WILL INCLUDE MY BEST MARINADE RECIPE IN ONE
OF THE WEEKS AHEAD. (1 HAVE PUT IT IN THE PAPER FOR THE
LAST TWO YEARS AND IT STILL DESERVES ATTENTION AS SO
MANY OF YOU HAVE USED IT AND IT IS THE WINNER BY FAR!)
THIS WEEK I HAVE A WONDERFUL MARINADE FOR CHICKEN
OR PORK.
CURRY- GINGER MARINADE
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup (or chili sauce)
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar (or red wine vinegar)
2 tbsp olive oil
I tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp curry powder
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper
Mix all ingredients together and then set aside a small bit for
the final basting on the BBQ. Pour the remaining marinade
into a large Ziploc bag with about 6-8 pieces of chicken or
pork chops. Seal and marinate overnight or at least 4 hours.
Cook on the bbq, be sure to throw out the marinade. Use the
reserved marinade for a final basting of your meat. Very nice!!
This would be very good with a fresh fruit salsa.
On May 2 Nathan Finch, Sam McEwan and Ben Turner
were among the 1st Exeter Beavers who came up with
an idea to make guitars out of materials laying around the
hall. Brad-

pened

pened to be nearby heard their melodies and decided to
jam with the Beavers.The Beavers thank James for teach-
ing them a few notes and that with a few minutes they

Beta Alpha Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi
EXETER - Mary Jane Taylor and Elsie Wilteveen
were co -hostesses for the meeting of Beta Alpha Master
Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi on April 4 at Taylor's home.
President Bev Delbridge conducted the business.
Verla Russell reported on the successful Daffodil Day
which raised $6645 for the Cancer Society. Final plans
were made for our outing on May 15 to see the play,
South Pacific, at the Avon Theatre in Stratford.
Mary Jane Taylor was the speaker for the evening
telling us about her trip on the Rocky Mountaineer
Train. She also showed a video including details about
the tour and visiting a glacier. The scenery was beauti-
ful. A delicious lunch was served by the hostesses.
On April 25 our chapter along with sister chapter Beta
Theta, met at the Masonic Hall to celebrate the 75
Anniversary of Beta Sigma Phi. The opening ritual was
led by Janice Brock. Michelle Teid gave the Beta Sigma
Phi grace. A beautiful buffet dinner was served by the
Eastern Star ladies. Joanne Bowen conducted a quiz "A
Trip Down Memory Lane -- 59 Years and Counting".
Everyone enjoyed viewing the display of scrapbooks
covering the years beginning in 1947.
The message from the International was given by Lois
Godbolt. Liz Taylor read the announcements of the
2006-2007 theme. The closing ritual was led by Janice
Brock.
