The property at Biddulph Central School got a whole lot greener last week, with the planting of 143 white cedar trees. Students spent last Thursday planting the trees, a project made possible through a $2,000 grant from the TD Friends of the Environment. Principal Patti Baker said the trees will eventually act as a windbreaker for the property. Parent Joanna John approached the school about the idea and said she is happy the project is going ahead. Karen Pugh of the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority spoke to the students about the benefits of planting trees. She said the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority was also involved.
