The Exeter Synchronized Skating Club was in Caledonia the weekend of March 12 at the Bert
Winfield Competition and all the teams came home with excellent placements.This competition
was the last one of the 2005/2006 synchronized skating season. Coach Melissa Hendrick states
she was extremely pleased with how all three teams skated. "I really could not have been more
proud." All the Exeter teams cheered each other on including other teams they were competing
against which shows great sportsmanship from the Exeter teams.The Exeter Classics Junior Team
placed third bringing home a bronze medal, the Exeter Classics Adult team placed fourth and had
two great skates while the Exeter Classiques Masters Team placed second bringing home a silver
medal.We11 done to all the teams. The Exeter Classics are Paula Damen, Julia Burton, Kerry
Ansems, Sonya Shantz, Patti Down, Deanne Kainz, Kerri Clifford, Beth Wambolt,Alicia Laye, Holly
Atkinson, Bill Brush, Missy Pfaff, Leigh -Anne Fevery, BrennaAnstett, Bonnie Sitzes and Leeanne

Campbell leading
Gwinnett to playoffs
GWINNETT —
Former Exeter hock-
ey player Jeff
Campbell is having a
record setting season
while helping lead
the Gwinnett
Gladiators towards
the playoffs.
Campbell leads the
Gladiators in scoring
with 80 points on 29
goals and 48 assists
which is also a new
team record, break-
ing the old one of 73
points. He is also in
the top five in league
scoring.
After setting the
record , Campbell
continued his hot sea-
son by being called
up to the Lowell Lock
Monsters of the
American Hockey
League.
The 24 -year-old
picked up a
goal and an
assist in seven
games for the
Lock
Monsters, just
returning from
his first callup
in time for the
final week of
the regular
season. He
was also
picked as a ECHL
first team all star last
week.
Campbell has repre-
sented the Gladiators
in the past two
Eastcoast hockey
league all-star games
and played four sea-
sons at Western
Michigan University
before turning pro
last season.
The Lock Monsters
were looking for help

in their
quest to
catch
Providence
for the last
playoff spot
in the
Atlantic divi-
sion but as
of April 10
trailed
Providence
by 18 points.
The Gladiators
meanwhile have
clinched a playoff
spot and sit at the top
of the South Division
of the American con-
ference in the ECHL
with a 50-15-7 record
for 107 points.
The ECHL Kelly Cup
playoffs start this
week with the
Gladiators having a
bye into the second
round.

Bantams 'C' champions
EXETER — The South Huron
Sabres Bantam Local League team
are the Champions of the "C" divi-
sion.
The Sabres finished the year
strong with red hot goaltending and
a defensive style that resulted in 10
wins, three losses and two ties in
their last 15 games.
The team knew it was well pre-
pared for the playoffs as they
knocked off the top team in the
league by a score of 4-2 during their
last regular season game.
During the first game of the play-
offs against Thamesford they suf-
fered their only defeat by one goal,
then went through that and into the
finals undefeated, culminating in
the championship.
In the final round against St Marys
the Sabres recorded two shutouts,
outscoring their opponents 11-2
over the four game series.
Coach Michael Skochinski said
"The team gelled at the right time"
and added, "It was great to see the
unselfish playmaking and extra
effort from all the players."
