The Exeter Fire Department recently purchased two new items for the station, a rescue
cart and cutters. The rescue cart, costing $ 1,500, is designed for trail use, like the
MacNaughton trail in Exeter. It allows two firefighters to rescue a person more easily when
an incident occurs on a trail, which has happened in Exeter before. The cutters, costing
$4,500, will be used for automobile extraction. The cutters used previously by the depart-
ment were 20 years old. From left Exeter fire chief John Morgan and Exeter Firefighter
Association president Jeff Musser stand with the new items. The money used for the pur-
chases was raised by the Exeter Firefighter Association. Most of the proceeds came from
Exeter's Pancake Breakfast held annually in June. (photo/Nina Van Lieshout)
