Hospital Auxiliary makes an important contribution
EXETER -
After a brief
winter interlude
the Hospital
Auxiliary
resumed its
regular meeting
in March. We
are pleased to
report that the
South Huron
Hospital has
taken the first
step in installing
the "P. A. C.fS
system.

Potluck luncheon for
Grand Bend WI
GRAND BEND - Mr.
Ernie Miatello, of the
Huron Apothecary Ltd.
was guest speaker at the
March meeting of the
Grand Bend Women's
Institute. Ernie told the
ladies we should know
the name of all the drugs
we take, whether they
are prescription or over
the counter drugs. The
brand name and the
generic name are impor-
tant names to know.
You should know why
you are taking the drug
and how to take the drug
properly. The patient
should know with what
foods and when to take
the drug. Short term and
long term effects of this
drug should be known.
A list of drugs a person
is taking should be kept
up to date. Call your
pharmacist if you have
any concerns about the
drugs you are taking. All
questions are important!
Thirty per cent of pre-
scriptions are not taken
properly. Herbal medica-
tions can react to the pre-
scribed drugs. Drugs
should be stored in a dry
place. Always check
expiry dates. Always
take back to the druggist
out -dated or unused
drugs. Ernie answered
many interesting ques-
tions that members
asked.
During the business
meeting president Cass
Lovie read an Irish
Blessing. The completed
quilt was on display and
is for sale. Several
"Irish" draws were made.
The Christmas ideas
were collected for the
FWIO Christmas Book to
be published next Fall. A
new display of salt and
pepper shakers has been
set up at the Grand Bend
Library Showcase. Check
it out! A bountiful collec-
tion of books, crayons,
toys and knitted articles
was made to the
Children's Hospital.
The next meeting will
be a potluck luncheon.
Did you know Adelaide
Hunter Hoodless has
been named as one of
Canada's top 25 person-
alities? She will be fea-
tured at an exhibit at the
Canadian Museum of
Civilization in Ottawa.
She fought long and hard
to get milk pasteurized in
Ontario after the tragic
death of her infant son.
Her crusade to better
educate women and girls
in rural Ontario was the
foundation on which
Women's Institute was
built.
ning will mean
the xrays and
ultra sound
taken at our
hospital will
immediately be
read by radiolo-
gists in London
and elsewhere
and eventually
anywhere in
Ontario.
The system,
however, will
not be fully
implemented
until we are
equipped with
the "C R
Reader". This is
the second step
in "Diagnostic
Imaging" - we
will all work
towards this
achievement.
The Hospital
Auxiliary is
proud to have
contributed the
sum of $50,000
towards the pur-
chase of this
equipment that
will eventually
benefit all the
communities in
this area.
The South
Huron Hospital
will be changing
four long term
beds into four
rehab beds in
April.

A TOUCH OF CLASS Plan 1-3-600 A distinctive covered entrance, set off by semi -circular steps and flanked by stone pilasters, lends this single -story
three-bedroom home a touch of class, making it an asset to any neighbourhood. Double doors open into a generous foyer. On the right is a curved
stairway down to the unfinished basement. To the left is a formal dining, boasting a handsome coffered ceiling and a built-in buffet.Ahead is a spacious
great room, with access to a covered deck overlooking the back garden. On either side of the fireplace are built-in entertainment centres. The adjacent
morning room, which features a bayed window, provides the perfect spot for casual meals and relaxed moments. The morning room is divided from the
kitchen by an eating bar that forms part of the kitchen's U-shaped counter configuration. Both kitchen and morning room have access to a patio with a
covered space for the barbecue, making it ideal for al fresco meals in warm weather. The kitchen also features a large island, a wine bar and a double
sink with a window over it. A walk-in pantry is separated from the kitchen by a pocket door. Conveniently located nearby are a two-piece powder room,
a roomy coat closet and the laundry room, with access to the double garage. The master suite overlooks the back garden, with its own private sundeck
as well as a capacious en suite with a soaker tub and a glassed -in shower stall. The walk-in closet is roomy enough for the most extensive wardrobes.
The bathroom shared by the second and third bedrooms contains a handy linen closet, and another walk-in closet, fitted behind the staircase wall,
provides extra storage space. On the home's exterior, smaller versions of the pilasters that flank the entrance are repeated along the brick facade. The
home is 95 feet, two inches wide, and 59 feet, six inches deep, for a total of 2,473 square feet, and includes an unfinished basement. Plans for design
1-3-600 are available for $636 (set of 5), $721(set of 8) and $775 for a super set of 10. B.C. residents add 7% Prov. Sales Tax. Also add $25.00 for
