Game seven for Sherwoods
HENSALL — The Hensall
Sherwoods were in game seven
Tuesday night against the
Shelburne Muskies in their
WOAA 'AA" quarter finals after
the teams' split games five and
six on the weekend.
The game was held after the
Times -Advocate went to press.
The Sherwoods took a 3-2
lead in the series Friday night
in Shelburne with a 3-2 win but
the Muskies returned the favour
Saturday night in Hensall with a
7-4 win to even the series at
three games apiece.
In other matchups, Lucknow
eliminated Tavistock in seven
games while Durham put
Clinton away in five games.
Friday night in Shelburne
after a scoreless first period,
the teams' combined for four
goals in the second with
Sherwoods Jarrett Jeffrey and
Jeremy Geoffrey scoring 20 sec-
onds apart for a 2-0 Hensall
lead.
But the Muskies replied with a
pair of goals before the period
was over for a 2-2 tie going into
the third.
A power play goal by JR
Davies was the difference as the
Sherwoods took home the lead
in the series.
Saturday night a pair of power
play goals in the first period by
Chris Downie and Geoffrey,
wrapped around a Shelburne
goal, left the Sherwoods up 2-1
at the end of the first.
But the Muskies took over in
the second firing five goals with
the Sherwoods replying from
Geoffrey and Jeff Glover for a 6-
4 Shelburne lead going into the
third.
The Muskies sealed the win
midway through the period to
take the series back home for
game seven Tuesday night.
