(photo/submitted) Museum display at township hall By Doris Hamilton ZURICH - Zurich Diners on March 8 had Elizabeth French, Assistant Curator from the Huron County museum as guest speaker. She brought a number of pictures plus a United Church quilt and a Hess clock. French gave a history on museum founder Joseph Herbert Neil, his life and his collections which filled his home forcing him to look for a larger place to show these items to the public. The museum will be bringing a larger display to be shown at The Township Hall in Zurich on June 17 and 18. Some of the exhibits are changed on a regular basis. With the many different programs being planned which you haven't seen, a trip to the museum will be worth your while! POLICE BRIEF Strinng of vehicle break ins EXETER Several vehicles were broken into during the night of March 8. Unknown parties entered several vehicles located in the Huron Street and Snider Crescent area of Exeter. The first vehicle was unlocked and had a satellite phone stolen from it. The second vehicle was locked and the thieves broke in stealing $700 worth of confectionary items and completed approximately $300 worth of damage. The third vehi- cle was broken into and stolen from it was a quantity of personal items including $300 and a Tellus Motorola cellphone. Also stolen was the victim's son's goalie equipment valued at $2800. P Capsule Comments by Ernie Miatello A 26 -year study done on retirees found that early retirement doesn't make you live longer. It seems that those who retired at 55 died sooner than those who worked until they were 65. In fact, mortality was twice as high in those who retired sooner. Mmmm. Take good care of your bones. As we age, the risk of hip fractures increases and this type of fracture is much more than just broken bones. It can result in the death of 25% of women and 33% of men who fall and break a hip. A new education campaign is underway in Britain that tells children "'Tell, don't touch! If you see a needle, tell an adult". There is an increasing number of syringes being found on school grounds and this campaign is to make children aware of the dangers of picking them up. Domestic disturbance leads to charges EXETER — On March 8 Huron OPP attended a resi- dent on William Street in Exeter. A 22 -year-old male victim informed police that a discussion escalated with his girlfriend ending with the victim being struck.
